I was stunned to hear Paris Hilton was the Grand Marshal here in L.A. this year. I am not aware of anything she has done for the gay community and IN FACT--saw this conversation take place on the UNSCRIPTED reality show 'The Simple Life' aired in December 2003:

In this particular episode, Nicole Richie asks two guys if they'd ever kissed. Paris stands by and offers her enlightening reactions:

Nicole – “Do you guys ever French kiss?”
Justin – “Me and him? No!”
Nicole – "Just for like, just to turn a girl on?”

Paris – “Eeewwwww.”

Nicole – “I love when guys kiss.”
Paris – “You do?”
Nicole – “Yeah. I think it’s sexy. I love it. Have you ever seen it?”

Paris – “Two guys?”

Nicole – “Yeah, I swear to God it’s a known thing.”

Paris – “Eeewwwww.”

So I am at a loss as to what she has ever done for the gay community.

Less than a year later, came this:

Two African-American men who ask Hilton if she would model their fashion line.
Hilton, standing with pal Brandon Davis, is polite to the men, but calls them "dumb niggers" after they leave, according to British reporter Carole Aye Maung, who reviewed the tape.

She will do anything for more attention, so no, it surprises me none at all that she is involved in the Gay Parade. Next, she will lend her presence to other worthy causes she cares nothing about, like 'People Against Racist Whores' and 'Stamp Out Materialism Month'.

The interview with Paris Hilton's mother is NOT TO BE BELIEVED it is so Laura Bush sounding, in the new issue of IN Magazine. She says her riding in the parade symbolizes OUR respect for HER. WHAT??? I almost fell off my chair.

She skated around the gay marriage issue, saying that we all have the right to fight for our opinion. She did not give hers! Why not?

When asked about her "activism" she said, she was "involved in the L.A and New York community, so that would certainly include the gay community."

WHAT?

More than a few times, she simply states that is "sounds like a lot of fun." In OTHER words, it's a publicity thing for her.

When asked what values she instilled in her children, she says, "to be the best people they can me, work hard {Excuse me???}, be kind and respect other people." I suspect this does not include Paris Hilton showing her disgust for gays kissing on her TV show and calling two black men who invited her to model their new clothes line, "dumb n*****s" as soon as they walked away.

Paris DECLINED an interview with the same interview for the same magazine.

In this issue, Rodney Scott, praises them and says they are "aweseome" (that's for sure!) and that they are "committed to increasing the awareness about the issues that face gays and lesbians." How CAN they? How is that possible? And why on EARTH--would we need these two to attempt such a thing?
