Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff is coming under fire from an Internet website. DumpDuff.com says that the star, who has launched her own line of cruelty free cosmetics, had played a concert at a Houston rodeo. While Hilary Duff did not personally cause injury or death to any animal, her decision to play a concert at a rodeo is what is under question.

"In fact, the rodeo management credited Hilary’s performance for record-breaking attendance. Anyone acquainted with SHARK’s investigations into rodeo knows the cruelty, injuries and deaths that rodeo animals suffer." Says the site.

It has also been revealed that Duff is to play a concert at a Madrid bull ring this week, though it is not part of a scheduled bull fight, or it has been noted, anything directly involved with the 'brutal sport'.

"The fact that Hilary is playing at a concert at a bullring is more than adequate to show either ignorance or gross insensitivity. Hilary's bullring appearance, as with her rodeo appearances, will attract thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of young people into an environment which they may have never entered before." Again states the site.

What ignorance! In Madrid and all of Spain, bullrings are also used as stadiums are used here. They are used as amphitheaters and all kinds of shows happen there that in no way are connected to the bullfights. Yes, and football is violent and anyone that sings before a game is part of it. PLEEEZE~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate Hillary Duff, but I'm going to have to side with the rodeo in this case. I get really annoyed and tired of people who have nothing better to do in life than find some ridiculous cause to get their panties in a twist about. Get a job and a life.

although I'm no animal rights activist, I have to disagree with ibizagirl on the comparison to football.

football players CHOOSE to play. the animals in rodeos and in bullfights do NOT. that's a major difference.

I don't know enough about rodeos to say whether or not the animals suffer at all, but it's not like they WANT to be there. They're being roped, and thrown to the ground, and ridden with their balls tightened under a rope so they will buck...

that ain't exactly the same as a quarterback being sacked by Lawrence Taylor.

hilary didn't just perform at "a" rodeo in houston but the houston livestock show and rodeo, which is always humogous...one of the biggest in the state.

as a texas girl, i can assure you that the animals used in rodeos aren't treated any worse than the cowboys riding the animals (good horses sell for more than my house is worth), or those in the slaughter house waiting to become our next filet.
