Michael Mann admits that Jamie Foxx has for years been working to convince the Hollywood movie director to adapt the 80's TV into a movie. In 2001, Foxx made his first pitch to Mann at a birthday party for Muhammad Ali.

According to Mann: "Jamie said I should make Miami Vice. He did 20 minutes on why I should do it, doing the sound effects and the cars and everything."

Frankly, I can't imagine the movie (even though I'm quite positive it will be wonderfully 80's-tastic and holy hell can you even IMAGINE how much crazy actor-groupie sex and coke was had on that set?) is going to be able to top those 20 minutes of Jamie Foxx doing his best Cadet Larvell Jones impression to sell Miami Vice: The Movie.
