It's been a a strange two weeks, guys. First off, I'm in my new apartment, which I LOVE, and even though unpacking has been a lot of work, it always reminds me of Christmas. This is because my youngest sister used to like to steal some of my things weeks before, wrap them up and then give them to me as gifts on Christmas Day. I'm now feeling more settled and have to apologize for missing last week's letter, and for having this one be so late. I'm a wreck! Not really. I'm just disorganized.
And before I forget, I want to remind you all that one of my favorite shows, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is premiering tonight on FX at at 10PM. Here's a full, brand-new episode on YouTube for you to check out.
In any case, the awards season is totally getting geared up. I know the VMAs aren't exactly the most prestigious awards in the entertainment industry, but they have been getting lots of buzz, mostly in part thanks to a lackluster performance by Britney Spears. People have been going bonkers, either trashing her or defending her and I have been loving every minute. Crazy is good for business.
Lisa gets excited about the Emmys after the jump...
And now, we have the Emmys coming up this weekend and I'm excited since I'll be live-blogging the event for the first time ever! Woo hoo! In addition, Keegan, who writes for Recapist will be handling the pre-show red-carpet fashions, which I think will be hilarious since he's already told me that he has no idea who any of these celebrities are and it's my job to tell him. The best part is that he agreed to do the red-carpet coverage, originally thinking that we had red-carpet access. This means that your boy was willing to hit up the Emmys red-carpet without any preparation of knowledge of celebrities and take one for the ASL team. Now, that's dedication. Unfortunately/fortunately, he'll be able to do it from the comfort of a couch in front of the TV. So, if you're not into watching TV, but want to know what's going on minute-by-minute, you know who to call! In addition, I should be hitting up a few pre-Emmy events and hope to take some fun pictures for you guys for Monday.
I'll be curious to hear who wins, but I have to admit that I'm very happy for Ms. Kathy Griffin and her Emmy win at the Creative Arts Emmys. Go Kath! And to commemorate that, I've included a video clip of her describing her first Emmy nomination and the let down from having had lost. Kathy's an Emmy loser no more!
I think that's really all for the moment. Enjoy the rest of your week and enjoy the Emmys!
Raindrops on roses, whiskers on kittens and all that jazz,
