Rumer Willis finds fame to be a "24 hour job".

This is like one of those situations when someone is just not right for the job. For instance, I wouldn't go applying to be a professor of physics at MIT. I just wouldn't. I don't have the paper or the smarts or the aptitude for science. So when I see Rumer out on the red carpet, I just think "not a fit". She's got the pedigree, but there's something lacking. Can she even act? Or sing? Dance? Barbara Streisand could sing. I'm just not seeing superstar here. It's very round peg square hole. Howabout producer? Stylist? Dog wrangler on the set? What is she in her heart of hearts? Her Dad's not a bad actor. Mom can't act but she's stunning and works that. The well ran dry, though.

But when it really comes to the fame game, Willis - who has become a gossip-blog fixture in recent months - tells PEOPLE, "Before I started working, I would have said, 'You know, it's not really fair, because I didn't choose this.' But when you decide to be a part of this profession and put yourself out there, then you kind of have to accept what it is."

Still, notoriety does offer its obstacles. "It's a 24-hour job," she says. "It doesn't matter if you are going out to a restaurant - you have to be aware of what you are doing and how you look and how you are presenting yourself, because most of the time people never get to know you."

But at its heart, she says of celebrity, "Being famous isn't going to parties ... it's about being able to use the power that we all have to kind of give back."

Oh lordy. Hey, I saw those pics of you tonguing the condom. What were you giving back then?

Oh God spare us please, not another Mother Theresa.
Of course it's all about going to parties and getting free designer clobber and getting wasted and pretending to avoid the paps. Get a grip girl. If you want to 'give back', train as a nurse or doctor.

The jaw, the hair, the pout, the thighs.
None of it works.

If only Bone-o & company would be honest enough to admit that celebrity is just a huge "power trip" like little Rumer does.
By the way, Rumer:
You have to "have" something before you can "give back". You ain't got nothin' but a famous cardboard dickwad for a father.

When is she going to come clean and show us her peen????????

Poor Rumer btw what a ugly name for a ugly girl.
Yea, she needs to be in show business, not in movie making but in the circus.

And what the hell is she giving back with that fake ass nappy hair?

Has she actually done any work? Acting? Anything?

October 30, 2007 3:34 PM

Hey, the front of ya skirt is missing! I'm feeling so "circus" all of a sudden...

um...im sorry but she's ugly, she definately didnt take after her mom!

poor thing-is that halloween hair or what???

When will this chick wise up and get on that plane to the Ladyboy clinic in Thailand?

If she wants to be famous that's fine by me. But if she wants me to buy what she's sellin', she needs to get that giant mandible shaved down to an acceptable proportion. If they can do a good job on the Trannies, they should be able to handle the mess that is Rumer.

This is a case of someone trying to Force themselves into the public eye, which since there are pics of her everywhere, she is doing a good job of that. However, come on child, you are not attractive nor relevant to anything other than to be attacked on gossip sites and scare small children. Go home. Go to college. Go 'way.

Giggiddy giggiddy.

Did she seriously show up to an event sponsored by Toys r Us in that dress? Was it for Hallowe'en? Because that's the only reason I can think of wearing that dress to which the shoes don't match (same pair Britney's wearing). It's the total "I'll dress like a whore" costume.

October 30, 2007 7:27 PM

She's Quagmire's niece, right?

October 30, 2007 8:22 PM

I think she needs to give some of that chin back.

I am glad that she either has a TRUE friend who told her hat that blonde look was ABSOLUTELY not working, or she realized herself!! Either way, blonde, brunette, red, orange, pink, nothing will work for her!!! Rumer, take a seat behind the scenes and just be a rich little spoiled hollywood girl... have fun and enjoy mommy and daddy's riches instead!!!!

I know exactly what Rumor means! Like when I decided to put myself out there, it forced me to become a part of this profession back in my 6th grade holiday pageant. Sadly, I then learned about all the negative aspects that my newfound fame involves.

Rumor Willis is not kidding. Fame and celebrity really is a 24 hour a day job that takes dedication and requires great maturity and self control. I know that raising my two kids was not nearly so demanding as what I face each day just when I'm trying to go about my daily business such as hitting the local starbucks or stoppin in to get my hair colored for the three times a week.

A few years ago, my dear son, Beelzer Sandyne Houwin Curry, nearly died a couple dozen times before he even turned two years old, well let me tell you, I couldn't count all the hospital visits I had to take him to and all of the all night vigils I had, sitting next to his bed hoping to keep him breathing and alive... Well, that's nothing to the difficulties of properly maintaining my celebrity status and keeping my hair and make up just so while I'm posing for the camera-phone papparazzi.

And please, you have to believe her when she says being a celebrity isn't all about going to parties. We celebrities work hard at weilding our infinite power to give back to the little people.

Charity work is probably one of a celebrities biggest responsibilities. Especially when you need to overcome some recent bad publicity and do some damage control. You have no idea how visitin sick people or giving money to those dirty people in homeless shelters can so ruin your whole night at the club.

Being a celebrity is not fair! I did not really choose this profession, it chose me that day long ago when I was given the lead in that school play and now, I must use my fame to help all you little people, no matter how hard the sacrifice....
