Even though Amy Winehouse swept the Grammys with five wins, we all win when icons get together on stage and perform--in shiny silver outfits. I love me some Tina Turner and Beyonce and these two turned it OUT. Cher was rocking a new wig from her collection and it looks as if big hair is in this season, with Cyndi Lauper's fro and pretty much all the young ladies appearing to be getting some extra help from extensions. Even Rihanna, with her short do worked up in a bouffant for the occasion.
I have to admit that I missed the awards show itself and am catching up here on the site with J.'s recap later on (as should all of you who happened to miss it), but from what I can see from these pictures, it was a star-studded event, with lots of wonderful, shiny outfits to look at. Prince is so fantastic--as crazy as his ensembles are, they're made classic by the fact that he really doesn't ever change his look.
Kanye West also won big, claiming four Grammy awards, but probably would have been even happier, had he won album of the year, which went to jazz legend, Herbie Hancock for "River: The Joni Letters."
All in all, it felt like a weekend to celebrate--not just for the Grammys, but also the news that this writers strike might be coming to an end, meaning that we might actually have a decent Oscars night coming up later this month.

Well done, Beyonce. Telling the highly overrated Franklin where she stands in the hierarchy was long overdue. We can do wiithout all that attitude and with a lot more Respect. Instead of complaining, she should have curtseyed to Queen Tina.
