Lindsay Lohan Puts on the Marilyn Monroe Wig and Shows Her Goods

The photographer who captured the infamous pictures of the late blonde bombshell, Marilyn Monroe, that would collectively be known as "The Last Sitting" recently recreated many of the photos using Lindsay Lohan. The young actress donned a blonde wig for this photo shoot for New York Magazine and little else, posing nude and topless, using sheer scarves to slightly conceal her lady parts. She sat down with the same photographer, Bert Stern, who shot the 1962 pictures of Marilyn because he said he believed "she had a lot more depth to her" than you would probably think from "those teenage movies."
Lindsay, for her part, considered her participation in the project a no-brainer, saying: "I didn't have to put much thought into it. I mean, Bert Stern? Doing a Marilyn shoot? When is that ever going to come up? It's really an honor." The pictures are pretty amazing, with Lindsay letting it all hang out in her freckled glory, but even at her young age, she already seems way too good at the whole "tragically used-up" bit.

Seems like she should have had the opposite reaction. Something like "No way would I do a shoot like that, that can't possibly be as good as the actual Marilyn one, and will make me look like desperate sloppy seconds by comparison."

No matter how hard she tries she will never be the naturally sexy that Ann Margaret and Marilyn Monroe were. She fancies herself in that mold but she's too desperate appearing. Ironic, since Marilyn WAS desperate for acceptance; but her appeal was natural, unavoidable, innate; as is Ann Margaret. Lindsey just doesn't have that. She might have managed a natural progession to some level of it if she just wouldn't try so damned hard, but she's beat down already. She needs to recoup; I don't think she can come back at this point.
She never was that great of a serious actress and her physicality was a drawing point; that is sadly overrated.

The only thing that Lindsay Lohan has in common with Marilyn Monroe is the substance abuse problem. She's not attractive enough to do this kind of shoot, what was the photog thinking? LL is nothing special, he would've been better off using the late Anna Nicole Smith.

These photos certainly don't show-off any attributes that Lohan might have. On the other hand, she does have the same lifestyle that Marilyn and Anna Nicole had...uneducated, drug-addicted sluts. I agree that Marilyn was prettier - at times.
Before her boob-job, she had A cups at best and she wasn't freckled, which I realize is a turn-off for many.
If you've ever read any bios on Marilyn, you might not think her so "attractive".
The woman was a mess and spent many days each month, in bed, bleeding all over the sheets (she wouldn't use tampons) and lying in her own filth (she went days/weeks without showers) and VOMIT from the bubbly.
Btw, she caught a lot of slack for being "fat" during much of her career too.
Just sayin', I don't see the appeal of Marilyn but I guess ignorance IS bliss when it comes to fantasies. Kinda like I felt about S. Stallone back in the '80s...until I learned the truth.

The photographer is trying to honor the memory of those pictures he took so long ago. He picked the makeup, the wig, the scarves and the lighting and film. He framed the exposures and cropped them for printing.
Yes, she does look a little tired, but being stalked by dozens of maniacs twenty-four hours a day may have a lot to do with that!
So come on, people, be fair.

I'm not that big a fan of either MM or LL, but I have to say that just in casual perusal of this and other poses over the years, MM does have something intangible that LL just doesn't have (yet). I also agree that LL has produced far more appealing shots with her clothes ON, and that this is just another example of a young star trying to claim a legacy without putting in the time and creating the body of work to establish their own....

I can't believe New York Magazine would even fathom comparing these two females. MM had many issues as well in her life, but LL is just a spoiled brat with nothing concrete or exceptional on her resume. MM was a goddess, she was adored, she was loved for everything she was at the time. MM had character and substance....She was one of the first of her kind, that set trends, not followed them. She doesn't have that 'classical' type figure (As we all know Marilyn had a curvy yet slender figure) She just looks quite, well, boxy? There is no elegance in these.
Now, when posing in artistic nude photos (Nothing like porno or playboy!) the people who pose need a certain type of physique. Look at the artists who did various paintings and photography...from the Rennaissance to 21st century, the models have a particular classic feature that is unique and just plain elegant in the nude. Whether it's a woman who was pleasantly full-figured or a thin, slender girl they have something to potray. Their figure, and their sensualness should be able to bring out the lure and mysteriousness of the picture. There is no mystery here! There us no luring. Real Nude models are chosen for a reason! It's important to just look good naked. AND on top of that, you must have that special facial expresion.
And even if a person doesn't have that physique, it's the photographers job to make it a certain way so that the person does look classical, and somehow use it to their advantage anyway.
This is just...not artsy! Nothing wrong with her freckles or anything lile everyone keeps mentioning, just...I'm sorry but her body shape is ruining alot of the unique, classical value. (And she looks like she is slouching in that one photo...)
P.S Plus, she apparently had alot of sexual affairs ^_^; if that news popped up, why on earth do this to add on???

ok u peeps really need 2 stop the hate comments! they just make us fans mad! (im not really a fan of LL, im just speakin 4 any1 who iz a fan) she is NOT the only star who has destroyed her life and body! look at britney, or paris. in parises music video, (the jail one) when shes running from the guard, her boobs r bouncing and sagging out of her swimsuit! and britney, omg! shes fat, ugly, and stupid now. her life was great b4 this alcohol and drugs and rehab crap. and, hey, almost ALL celebrities have a prob with sumthin!! aj mclean of the backstreet boys had a alcohol, drug,and depression prob! but, he went to rehab and got better. him and the backstreet boys now have a smashing awsome new album out called unbreakable! so, just bcuz some stars dont turn their life around dusnt mean that all stars r just stupid, addictive sluts! lindsey didnt make the decision to do this shoot, so stop it with the hate!! PLEASE! all stars get their work and schedules done FOR them by their representatives! they cant make those decisions no matter how much f***ing money theyre willing to pay! im not a big fan of lohan, but the hate names and the obsurd comments just make u seem immature, stupid, jealous, and a jerk! i cood call u all a lot worse things, but im a christian, and god and jesus dont make mistakes!! they put every1 on this earth 4 a reason! nobody is a nobody!! so, all ur doin is insulting god! and whoever has a different religion out there, im sure u think the same thing bout which god u believe in!! so, PLEASE STOP IT!!!!! nope...not doing it for me. not as a serious remake anyway...she looks like she had fun which is nice and her freckleyness is interesting but this doesn't capture anything like what marilyn did. Now put scarlet johansen in these photos i might not feel the same but linsay? she's alreadt turned herself into her own caricature and she cant embody marilyns. plus she doesn't have the hourglass. she needs to let a real woman with curves do the impersonating

The cover shot and the one of LL looking down I did like. The other two seemed to fall short.
I like LL's appearance, but the short blonde wig doesn't suit her well. Maybe it was just a bad wig. Here's a possibly controversial opinion though:
I think LL's cover shot is better than the original Monroe one. Not neccessarily because she's prettier or anything, but simply because it's more in focus, and the colors are crisp, whereas with Monroe everything was soft-filtered, and cheesy pastel.
