Robert Downey Jr. did some sort of all-day interview with a guy who writes for GQ. It's a ridiculously long article, and so I'm going to sum it up for you all so you don't have to spend your day reading it.
RDJ likes herbs and algae/protein shakes. He has a really strict regimen that seems to be what is keeping him on the straight and narrow path after many arrests and a couple long stays in jail. His best friend and butler Jimmy is around all the time and the two of them seem to keep each other on track.
Said writer continues spending the day with Jimmy and Robert. They do lots of things, like fight each other during his Wing Chun kung fu class. RDJ accidentally gives writer a bloody nose. They also do some sort of vertical wind tunnel and fly around, because the publicist thinks it kind of ties in with Iron Man.
RDJ talks a lot about his upcoming roles in The Soloist, Tropic Thunder, and of course his new box office hit. I think I want to see them all, because during his stream-of-consciousness babble, he seems really honest when he says how great they are going to be.
The guy seems real, but I suppose he always did to me thanks to his public screw-ups and honesty about the mistakes he has made. I finally feel hopeful for all the Amy Winehouses and Britneys and other trainwrecks throwing their talent down the drain. Someone needs to make them spend a day with Robert, so they can see how much better life can be when you finally get it all together.

It is SO GREAT to see him doing so well. All of those headlines he used to make when he was messed up seem like such a long time ago. I remember the interview he did with Walters back in the day (I believe it was right before he went back to jail for a year or so), where he admitted he lied to people all the time about being clean and being okay and it really made me sad for him. I'm glad he made it through all of that.
