It's common knowledge that Joe Simpson's meddling ultimately led to Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson's divorce. And everyone knows that Tony Romo is dealing with the same issues.

But what has Joe done to irk Tony, exactly?

Apparently Joe has been shopping around an engagement story to the magazines. A source quotes Papa Joe as saying to Tony, "'If you guys have a marriage, I can do the same [sell it] that I did with Ashlee.'"

Not only that, Joe also asked Romo to drop his agent so that he could take over the quarterback's career and manage Tony's $67.5 million contract. No wonder Tony had to give Jessica an ultimatum!

Joe's comment on all of this:

"It's unfair to criticize me for what every manager does for his or her clients. And in this business, where people can quickly turn on you, who better than a parent to be working for his children?"

Maybe a parent should stick to being a parent, since there is enough tension in the biz as it is, and because half the time your meddling is just creepy, Joe.

"blind" items all over the interwebs today about 'a meddling father's...wait for it.... interference (ha!)... in his daughter's relationship to the point of the b/f just calling it quits.

gee. wonder who that could be? joesimp = interfering and romo = football interference reference.

either way, that joesimp is a crock of... something.

he REALLY, REALLY needs to GET A LIFE and BUTT OUT of his ADULT children's lives.

Peachpie, He strikes me as a crock of slime .
I wouldn't be surprised if the straw that broke the camel's back was that Mr.S was insisting on sleeping in between Jessica and the boyfriend. like any good manager would.

Apparantly Joe has been lurking around this week's CMA Music Festival as Jess is there in Nashville http://www.wildbluffmedia.com/2008/06/05/jessica-simpsons-gone-country/

Right on, Intern Traci! What a focking CREEP!!! Most parents also don't jerk off to pictures of their daughters either, Joe. I'm just sayin'...

How come no one's made a plug for some millionaire dating site? Isn't that the usual procedure in comments?

LOL @ TS and Peachpie

At least he isn't talking up Jessica's chest. Of course, with Ashlee pregnant hers is going to get bigger so I bet we hear about her boobs soon. Joe can't stay quiet about Jessica's and they've been that size for awhile... so when Ashlee's suddenly pop up... the man might just have a heart attack.

It's hard enough for Jess to keep a man. Perhaps her dad should stop making it even more difficult! What an opportunistic A$$hole.

It's one thing (and still incredibly tacky) for a manager to sell information to the tabloids about an engagement or something. But when it's your FATHER who is the manager and selling information to the tabs, that opportunistic and disgusting. He obviously has nothing beyond protecting the bottom line in mind when it comes to them. They need to tell him to back the f*ck off. What's worse is that he sees nothing wrong with this. This man was a minister?

Hehehe, I said bottom line.

What the worst part of all is that Jessica and Ashlee are ADULTS! Why the hell don't they just tell their dad to f-off and find their own managers. They're grown women! And it's not like he's made them into successful "artists". Does he really have them so screwed up that they think they can't do anything without him? That thought creeps me out more than anything.
