Just a quick post. Stuck in Italy due to the blackout. How ironic that I'm in Italy when this one hits, and I missed the New York one. Went off to the beach with my good friend Raoul Bova. We thought it would be best to avoid all of the disgruntled citizens of Italy, and even worse the American tourists who will bitch about anything. I'll be back with a full post this weekend.

Solid as a Rock.

What in the world is going on with Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. Are they still engaged or not? Are they playing the public for even more publicity? Does anyone really care anymore?

In my opinion, they are still together. Jennifer seems to have entwined Ben in her twisted desire for the most publicity possible. What non-couple, or couple that has broken off their engagement would go to a courthouse together and register for gun permits? Who knows, maybe they’ve come up with some suicide pact. That would create a huge media blitz of publicity, and they would live on in infamy. However, they wouldn’t be around to enjoy it, and Jennifer loves her publicity so that most likely won’t be happening.

If it’s not a suicide pact, what are the gun permits for? I don’t see J Lo heading down to the shooting range any time soon. Ben, is someone who should not have access to a firearm. As a newly recovering substance abuser, and as someone who may well be addicted to gambling a owning a gun is not the best of ideas. Haven’t they learned anything from Robert Blake, Phil Spector and her Puff Daddy experience. Celebrities and handguns do not mix well.

So it seems as if Bennifer or Af Lo, are still playing the public for fools.

We all survived didn't we. The results of Fashion Week didn't prod us all in any direction, but it gave us endless possilbities. I attended a number of the shows with my good friend Liza Minnelli. I could barely contain Liza during the Zac Posen show. She kept yelling "Gorgeous!" throughout the whole show. I had a sip of her Evian, and no, it was not spiked. I was releaved that Zac lived up to all the hype. His show had a star studded crowd including Claire Danes, Lenny Kravitz, China Chow and Tina Yothers. I'm assuming since J Lo or Penelope Cruz weren't there, none of the stars were paid for showing up.

Narciso Rodriguez, Michael Kors, Calvin Klien and Marc Jacobs were wonderful. Donna Karan and Ralph Lauren were rather blah. Overall there were too many ruffles, brown was way overdone, and I loved the long and lean look.

It's off to LA for the Emmy's. Hopefully there will be some surprises this year. Look for me with D.J. Cotrona, the hot young stud from the new FOX TV show Skin.

Hot Aussie actor Justin Melvey. Let's twist again.

This post is for Tom Ford, the poor dear. The news has finally gone public. Tom is in the dumps, after being dumped by long time boyfriend Richard Buckley. Love and kisses to Tom. Shine on my little snowbird.

It was extremely tough trying to make it to some of the shows during fashion week with the news of Bennifer's break up. I did make it to Betsey Johnson though. Fun as usual.

I'm not sure if I'm so devestated because of the fact that Jen and Ben were so extremely perfect for each other, or for the fact that I'll never get a chance to win money in the "How soon will they divorce pool"? We can only hope that they move on to find that person who is their true soul mate. Ben will go for some slutty actress like an unmarried Denise Richards, and J Lo will dip back into the musician pool.

For all the hype that the Toronto Film Festival has gotten, you would have thought it would have been a little more exciting. I was praying that Tara Reid showed up drunk somewhere to pump some life into the proceedings. The films I saw were great, don't let me knock that, but the parties were lacking.

I attended the screening for The Human Stain with my date for the event, Rodgrio Santoro (pictured above). He's a fabulous actor starring in another film that's also playing at the festival. Carandiru, is a film depicting life in the largest prison in Sao Paulo. The film is as breathtaking as my date. Back to The Human Stain. I admit I was confused about the films premis. I had thought the film was a documentary about http://www.befuddle.co.uk/celebs/celebs_paris_hilton.html. My mistake. It was an amazing film starring Nicole Kidman and Anthony Hopkins about a man with a life of secrets, and accusations of racism. They'll both be nominated for awards come this fall.

That was the highlight film of the Festival for me. Celebrity wise everyone was there who had a film to promote. Even those who didn't. Martha Stewart was there. I guess trying to enjoy every ounce of freedom while she has it. Of course Graydon Carter, from Vanity Fair, was there with I believe Toni Basil, but I could be wrong. Nicolas Cage was flirting it up with Neve Campbell. She's starring in the new Robert Altman film The Company. Another must see come fall.

Back to New York for fashion week, and then to LA for the ever predictable Emmy Awards.

That's a nice ball.

It seems fitting to me that A Socialites Life has moved into it's new home today. It's a kind of of rebirthing. I can remember the day without all the extraneous influences. I don't need to view the TV news networks and the newspapers (the New York Post cover almost made me puke today) to tell me how I should be feeling today.

I don't need any more reminders of what happened on September 11th than I have already have. Whenever I see the New York City skyline I'm moved.

In lieu of the heaviness of the day, these headlines should bring a smile to your faces.
