The Tribeca Film Festival opened this past weekend, and being a big fan of film that I am, I’m going to be checking out a number of films. My good friend Alexis and I had the pleasure of viewing Martin Scorsese’s personal print of East of Eden. It had been years since we had seen the film, and it really still holds it’s own over the years. Afterwords, we went to Public for dinner, and were like two giddy school girls talking about James Dean (I’m sure the men were bored). He was so beautiful, and the way that he just keeps you glued to the screen is just amazing.
Alexis and I met up with her boyfriend, and my new boyfriend Juan Carlos (that’s all you’re gonna get). Dinner was amazing. I highly recommend Public; great food, atomosphere, and one of the smoothest martini’s I’ve had in ages (the Shiso and Raspberry Martini is also pretty yummy).
There were a couple sightings of note. Sarah Jessica Parker was there, looking very un Sex and the City-ish, with Patrick Michael King. I’m assuming they were meeting to discuss Kim Catrall’s holding out for the film (take it while you can get it sweetie). I hadn’t seen Adam Moss in person before, but he was dining with some middle-aged unknown woman who was knocking them back like there was no tomorrow.
More on some of the Tribeca films later in the week.
