Despite the fact that David Beckham is turning thirty and is revealing his beauty secrets to the world, everything is not fine in the David & Posh kingdom. Say hello to Nannygate.
David and Victoria Beckham succeeded in a legal bid to gag their former nanny on Friday after she sold a story to a tabloid newspaper about the state of their marriage.Part of this story has to deal with a sexy text message nanny Abbie Gibson found on David Beckham's phone which were sent to model Esther Canadas.Lawyers acting for Abbie Gibson, 27, told the High Court in London that she would not make any further allegations about the couple's private life and would put on "legal ice" the 125,000 pounds ($238,000) she received from the News of the World for her story.
Here's what Abbie had to say about the messages.
"When the Rebecca story came out I was suspicious of him and looked at what was stored in his sent items and found them. I called the number. It was a Spanish-sounding person speaking English on her voicemail. I don't know who it was."Apparently David Beckham is not a very good grammarian.
The "bed" message to Esther bears all the hallmarks of a Beckham text—containing the same schoolboy grammatical errors—such as the use of "was" for "were".There were also a few raunchy text messages sent to Rebecca Loos.
One to Rebecca Loos last year said: "Just lay back and think of what I done to you when you was face down."Moral of the story - never give your cell phone to your nanny if you're using your phone for illicit purposes.
