When Rolling Stone's Mark Binelli tracked down the junkie ex-boyfriend of Kate Moss in a ramshackle drug den in Hackney, England, Doherty kicked off the Q&A by snort ing some heroin. "Over the next three hours, Doherty will also smoke crack, shoot heroin and take an 'ecstasy' pill," Bi nelli relates. "He does all of this casually, and openly, except for the shooting up, which he performs near the kitchenette, with his back to us. He offers me heroin and ecstasy but not crack. I decline. The more drugs Doherty does, the more he seems to relax. He never becomes incoherent, though occasionally he seems confused."There's a room waiting for Pete Doherty at the Chateau Marmont right now.

This is really very sad... he needs serious help. I wish someone would help him whether or not he wants it... he needs it or the next headline we read about him will be that he OD'ed... Maybe Kate should step up and help him.

unless he gets help. however, as my2cents said, he doesn't WANT to get clean. the only time he's ever been in rehab was court-ordered so that he could avoid jail time. he never stays with it.
the really sad thing is, he's probably a great, nice person when he's NOT on drugs. but all the world sees of him is the junkie Pete Dougherty.

I heard he has HIV and thats why he doesn't care much about what he does with drugs casue he's going to die anyway. Isn't it obvious from the look of that picture. you tell me ?
One thing that Oprah once said about drug-adicts that I totaly agree with, is that their self centered selfish people who care only about their next fix and don't even consider the pain and suffering that their putting their family through. And I believe he has like 2 kids that he has no relationship with, although in this case that might be a good thing. But a real man would clean up his act and do the right thing. what a lowdown coward.

First - No, snorting heroin does not equate cardiac arrest; waaay more people then you think (including myself) would be dead now if that were true.
Second - To the O lover: just because O says it doesn't mean it's true. Many people who use drugs are (gasp!)totally functional people who care very much about those around them. Users run the spectrum of good-to-bad just like any other demographic group.There are just as many crazy, evil sociopaths who are stone sober as junkies.
Frankly, the sober evil ones scare me more.
Third - Pete D. is an idiot. He is also a rock star. Most likely he will live to a ripe, drugged, confused old age, just like Keith Richards or Ozzy.

Kendra, I agree with you and it's not just because Oprah said it, though I think she knows a lot from doing her show all these years. If you have ever been in a relationship with an addict, you know that there are three people in that relationship. The addict cares for you, but he cares for his drugs more. You will always play "second" fiddle. What he wants comes first. You might basically have a good guy, but you won't see it. He will lie, maybe steal because he's under the influence. Don't fool yourself into thinking you can be kind enough or sweet enough to get him to do right. If you are in a bad marriage with an addict and you want to save it, the first step is to get him clean. You can't work on better communication or problems until he gets clean.

kendra pete does not have HIV. he had a blood test in rehab n theres nothing wrong with him except he has high traces of glucose in his bloodstream....its called addiction. no one can help him except himself. he wont listen the only thing thats gonna help pete clean up is if hes encouraged to carry on with his music,its his one passion but no one gives him any credit for it. praise him and you never know .. he might clean up
