In case you don't remember Michelle Rodriguez's behavior during her arrest, here's a brief refresher:
Police described Rodriguez as "very argumentative" and said she kept interrupting the officer who was explaining drunk driving sanctions to her. The 27-year-old actress allegedly told an officer: "I don't (expletive) belong here! Why don't you just put a gun to my head and shoot me! You've already taken my freedom! You might as well take my life too!"Well, it turns out that even when she isn't under the influence of alcohol, she's still a bit off. She goes on about how she's taking steroids to treat her allergies to "dust and cockroach resin." What? Any medical personnel in the house who can determine the credibility of this claim?
In court, Rodriguez apologized for her behavior but also blamed it on steroid injections she had been taking twice a month to treat allergies to "dust and cockroach resin" which began when she arrived in Hawaii last year. She said the effects of the steroids made her "manic," kept her up late at night and caused her to have "menstrual cycles three times" a month.
"I wasn't right in my head," she said in court. "None of that verbal behavior was directed towards them. It was directed towards myself."
Wearing a leather jacket, white ankle-length skirt and slippers, Rodriguez smiled as she passed reporters outside and held that smile while in morning court.
About her arrest, she said, "I personally am thankful that I was stopped because of the fact that I didn't acknowledge my own behavior and how sporadic it was until all hell broke loose in my life."
Let's all join Michelle Rodriguez in praying for herself.

Girl, pleeze! You grew up in Jersey City, NJ! You're used to the dust and cockaroach resin!
DCJ says:
The stuff about the steroid injections is likely true. I speak from personal experience with awful seasonal allergies. Cortisone can cause depression, mood swings and a whole host of other problems. I doubt she takes them that often though because long-term use makes you seriously bloated.
maryanne29 says:
You get a DUI and blame it on 'roid rage due to cockroaches? And the alcohol in your blood, what was that, a cleansing agent?
If there's a Hall of Fame for Lame Excuses, Michelle Rodriguez is a shoo-in.
Anno says:
I had to take steroids for a while for a serious allergy condition and my husband can attest to the fact that I morphed into a psycho bitch from hell! Normally I'm only a psycho bitch from purgatory.
kat says:
what a loser and untalented
Lee says:
Obviously, wannabes are running out of ways to get attention these days. I don't get why this girl wants the jail time over community service hrs but then, I don't really care.
fatback says:
Typically doctors prescribe steroids for severe allergic or inflammatory reactions, however there is a distinction in the *type* of steroid. Cortisone and Prednisone are typical drugs used for allergies and they are a type of *corticosteroid* which is a substance that reduces inflammatory responses in the body. *Anabolic* steroids are the type that build your muscles and cause extreme mania and violent outbursts in some. A doctor who prescribed her a steroid that caused mania (i.e. an anabolic steroid) would best be described as a "street pharmacist".
PS: I'm not a doctor, but I did sleep with Ellen Pompeo last night.
Dusty says:
One more case of personal experience...though not with allergies...
I had to have steroid injections for almost a year in my shoulder and neck (after a wreck) and it absolutely can cause to become depressed or out of whack bc it is made of hormones. I speak from experience. Though I was not a nut and did not act erractically, it did make me feel very unstable, weepy, etc. I had never heard this or been warned by the doctor so it caught me totally off guard.
aLLeLe says:
Fatback, that's true, except for the part about corticosteriods not causing mania. If there's an underlying mental disorder corticosteroids can definitely cause mania. Even without mental disease you can still get pretty hypomanic; I had one lady come in that went LSD crazy and she only had 60 mg of Prednisone.
girlganja says:
Ok, so I am not a "fan" of this Michelle person but I do want to make a comment regarding the steroid injections. I have MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and steroid injections are part of the treatment prescribed by my neurologist. Steroids are AWFUL. I have a periods every 5 days...3days on, 5 days off. I'm irratable, irrational, and the worst part is, I can understad the ridiculousness of it all, but have no ability to stop - revaluate - and make more rational statements/decisions. Is it wrong to drink and drive.... YES. Is it normal to beg for death because of it? Of course not. Get the girl on some anti anxiety medication. It truly helps to counter the hormone surges that occur when your system is so out of whack.
fatback says:
You seem like your in the business aLLeLe, so you prolly have more experience with that than me (just a lowly biochemist m'self, thanks for the info!) but I think the real point here is that Michelle Rodriguez *IS* taking anabolic steroids and is trying to come up with a legal sounding excuse for them being in her system. She is buff (hot, I won't lie) but a little wide in the shoulder for a former skinny girl. I know she has always been in great shape (Girl Fight etc) but she looks like a jungle fighter, fa sho'.
Sjor says:
I believe it! If you've ever been to Hawaii, you'll know that there are f***ing cockroaches EVERYWHERE; even in the nice areas of Honolulu. She may have been a bit weird with her "why don't you take my life bit" but at least she's not a drunken whore who spends every night slutting it up at night club *ahem lindsay lohan, paris hilton, kimberley stewert, hilary duff......oh there's too many to name sadly*.

getreal says:
It's all bull crap about steriods because she's always been crazy, violent, impulsive, wreckless, and just plain STUPID.
jolierancher says:
girlganja, seriously try to find a book called "The Virus Within: The sumpin' sumpin coming plague. I can't obviously remember the subtitle too well -- "sumpin' isn't actualy in it! It was a revelation for a friend who has MS!
Back to bitchy observations: Did anyone catch this girl on Punk'd? You can totally see that she is like this normally. Caught on camera bitching at everyone around her. But, I suppose that was her steroids again. Whatever. So tired of these misbehaving turds who get Hollywood money and then inflict themselves on a wider audience.
Jennifer C says:
Some of you are talking out your rear end and are nothing but some sorry scared people. Please...I would take 5 days in jail any day before I am caught with a broom on a highway serving 240 hours community service. That's embarrassing. Besides, most people have gotten in theircar after a drink or two and never got pulled over. What? Some of you can't take the heat in jail? Wousses!
Fancy says:
Michelle i think your an extraordinary woman. I think we all make mistakes and at some piont its up to us to learn from them and do the right thing. 60 days probably would feel like 600 days but just look at it and make a positive change in your life.
