Page Six is reporting this morning that Star Jones will be exiting "The View." According to Page Six's source, this was at the request of Barbara Walters and Rosie O'Donnell. I have to say I'm a tad disappointed. What could have been must see television, has now become "that talk show that Rosie is going to be on." People would have tuned in droves to watch the unpleasantness on set between Jones and O'Donnell.
ABC will announce this week that the big-boned talking head is out at "The View," a source close to the inner workings of the late-morning gabfest tells Page Six. "It was always Rosie's condition of joining the show, and Barbara agreed to those conditions from the outset," our source said. The network and Jones are now concocting a face-saving scenario in which Jones will be touted as moving on to pursue important new projects.Jones' camp yesterday denied the blustery babbler is going anywhere. "It's 100 percent not true. Where are you hearing this?" a rep for Jones said. A "View" flack echoed that. But those denials come on the heels of reports that Oprah Winfrey's best friend, Gayle King, may be in line to take over Jones' chair on the kitschy coffee klatch.
And while publicly, the show says Jones is "welcome" to remain on "The View" as long as she wants, insiders confirmed late last week that her agents are quietly shopping around for a new job for her.
Jones Getting 'View' Vamos [Page Six]

Danger says:
Okay so what's she going to do now?? I hope she realizes when she leaves that she's not gonna have a job...ur not a celebrity star
Grace says:
What a Fugly Cow...rolling around with a gay man like that.
Rumor says:
I didn't watch The View much during the early years, but I noticed a big change in Star's personality once she lost weight and married. Sometimes she can be so irritating, especially when she goes on and on about being a wife. She talks so idyllic, like a teenager. I'm sure the other women are thinking, "Gag." It's like she wants people to think her life is perfect. I can only imagine how annoying it is to experienced women like Behar and Walters.
PleaseThink says:
Well they had the perfect opportunity to have a ratings sweep. Everyone would tune in to see these two oversized headed big mouths go at it, and now who is going to watch? Really do you think Rosie has anything interesting to ad? I mean, I really get annoyed just by the sound of her voice and then when you have to look at the huge head. She is going to look like the Michelin Man on that set compared to the others. I would watch each day just to see them go back and forth but I will not watch to see Rosie. She is really way over rated. Poor Barbara is going to end up with now show. Well it is past time for her to retire anyway.
Girly Girl says:
PleaseThink~ I disagree with you. I can't stand Star- she is the most obnoxious person on television.
And I like Rosie- a lot of people don't like her because she is a.) a dyke and b.) told a publishing company to go fuc% themselves when they tried to co-opt her magazine. She won in court.. So these two things got spun into "She duped America because she is gay AND mean!" I don't give a rat's ass that she's a dyke. And I think it is awesome that she had the resources to take on a corporate bully. Why can't she be gay? And just because she is gay doesn't mean she has to be a doormat for people to walk all over.
So while the View may lose you as a viewer, they are going to pick me up... give me Rosie ANY DAY over Star-tard.
Oh Well says:
This is for the best bc now Star won't be on TV to face the public and get embarrassed when her marriage crumbles. She got "taken" by Al. She was obese when that "user" made his play at some party by saying a few sweet words, and she (like a dummy) fell for it. He knew who Star was and probably knew she couldn't find a husband. For a lawyer, she is really ignorant... that or desperate.
Kris says:
Hard to decide who annoys me more, Star Jones or Gayle King. At least Star created her own career, unlike that vapid leech pal of Oprah's so if she's the one chosen to take a spot on The View, I know for sure I won't be watching.
Rumor says:
Kris, I love Oprah, but agree with you. Gayle King needs her own identity. She acts just like Oprah, picked up her mannerisms, speech patterns, etc. It seems they want a black woman, so they should have guests hosts to find a woman to replace Star. That's how they replaced Ling with Elisabeth.
Kris says:
Rumor, all I know is the image of Gayle King's lips dripping with burger grease after she did a 'best burger' tour sealed it for me -- that leech will do ANYthing to keep in Oprah's good graces, what a tool. If The View is looking for a black replacement for Star they should be considering someone with interviewing skills and class like, Deborah Roberts (aka, Mrs.Al Roker).
Gayle says:
Sometimes prayers are answered. It's truly hard to feel sorry for Star Jones Gaynolds. She has been nothing but a puss-filled boil waiting to explode. Now she finally will.
I think the best of her is finished. She doesn't have any credibility as a television personality. Kind of like that Omerosa chick a few years back. Whatever became of her? Never mind.
Brian
There's an empty giant fishbowl, only used once for a week right downtown. How about sticking Starzilla in it and just leaving her there?I doubt Big Gay Al will miss her either.....
moonbeams says:
I think it's a mistake. I don't like Star. But I think Rosie is TOO high profile to blend in well with three or four other women. Bad Chemistry. And Gayle, as good as she may be, isn't going to help. I think having Rosie and Star together would improve ratings. I mean everybody likes to watch a trainwreck! Maybe Rosie is being groomed for the "lead" bcz Baba Wawa can't last forevah!
PleaseThink says:
Girly Girl - I am a gay man so I do not dislike Rosie because she is gay. I just find her obnoxious (sp). I don't really like Star that much either. I don't like people that play stupid. But I do think that the two of them together would make for a great show. They need someone to mix it up some and them two together would of really accomplished that. It would be the Star - Joy mix times 10!!! I am not an avid watcher but just thinking from the ratings stand point, they had something great right in the their laps and are now missing out on a great opportunity. But I don't really see Rosie fitting in on the show. If I was having a dinner party I would never put Rosie on the list with the others. Rosie is too dominating and Star would of countered that because she wants to be dominating but comes off as a wanna-be. And I would loved to of seen if Rosie would just come flat out and say "Star your husband is gay." Child, that would be the episode for the ages. Now Barbara has messed up my dream!!!!
countrybabe says:
Please Think, I agree with everything you said.
I think they picked Rosie because she's won 6 emmys and they haven't won any. It is time for Barbara to go. When will she retire, when she's 80?
las says:
Pleasethink, I agree in all ways. I would find her annoying if she liked men, women, sheep, etc.
And I also agree that it would have been spectacular to see her and Star working on the same camera. It would be like throwing firecrackers onto open crates of dynamite! POW!
Missbrowneyes
PleaseThink is so right. The View did miss a great opportunity to have Star and Rosie on at the same time. I'm guessing they picked Gayle because they think that she's a safe bet and quiet (eg moderator) but I have a funny feeling that this won't be the case. :-) You know people can always surprise you?????
Famine Toothpick, Jr. says:
So long tubby!
Laura says:
I have only watched the show a hand full of times, but I don't see the need for Elisabeth Hasselbeck's part. They don't let her speak, and seem to ignore her. I was humiliated for her, really. Rosie is loud and annoying, to say the least. I really liked her during her talk show days, but once that was over the rest was history.
