Could the end of the Star Jones era on The View actually be coming to an end? It sure looks like it. Access Hollywood has learned through a source close to The View, that Star Jones is expected to announce her departure from the chat fest. Now if we could only get Elisabeth Hasselbeck to jump ship we could liven up this bunch.
A source close to "The View" told Access Monday that Star Jones Reynolds will leave "The View" in July and will announce the departure on the show this week.As a result, the much discussed face-off between Star and incoming co-host, Rosie O'Donnell, will never occur. O'Donnell is not joining the gals until September.
Barbara Walters, creator of "The View" and Star'sfellow co-host, did not return Access' calls for comment.
According to Lloyd Grove, Star has signed a lucrative deal with another television outlet, and will announce her departure later this week.

I'm happy to see her go. However, what fun it would have been to watch Rosie sit next to her each morning. The fireworks that would have gone off. lol
As for Star's future, I can't imagine her getting any "significant" offers. She is universally hated for her self-centered manner. I can only imagine that she will soon star in a reality program that features men on the "down low" coming clean to the women in their lives.
Would seem Gay Al would certainly star in that one.

I'm with you Monica and Heather. I never watched the View (can't stand how they just talk over each other - reminds me of "Crossfire" or some stupid show like that where all they DO is yell over each other) but anytime I saw Star in a clip of the show, or in some other venue, she totally came across as SO self-righteous (about what, I do not know...), self-centered, and self involved.

Well they are all going to be looking for a new job pretty soon, because this show is doomed. Star was the one everybody loved to hate and without her this show is going to be boring. Rosie will get on everyone's nerves within 3 months and views will turn the channel. As much as I love Barbara Walters, he backstabbing of Star is going to bite her right back in the ass.

Star's decline began when she hooked up with Al.
It's not normal for a good-looking, intelligent, successful young man to purposely pursue a two-ton Tessie and be anxious to marry her after only a few months.
Star should've paid attention to Eddie Murphy's marriage. Eddie's wife was a total knockout and a prize that any straight man would like to have. Eddie and Nicole also had 5 kids, but the marriage still ended in a mess. The freak came out at night.
Star may believe that because she and Al got counseling or discussed things before marrying, Al will never betray her. He probably thinks he won't either. But if he's truly gay, sooner or later he'll grow tired of their sex life, tired of living a lie and will want to freak with some men!
.... I also believe The View is on it's way off the air. I'm glad Rosie adopted children, but I can't bear her. She's too sensitive... and too mean because of it. She's a deeply wounded human being who can't "take" anything anymore. I predict lots of arguments and clashes with guests. Soon, no one will want to set foot on the lot.
I agree that Barbara Walters did a low-down and dirty thing to Star nontheless. She should watch her back. What goes around comes around, and the payback is usually worse!

I only watched "The View" because of Starr Jones. You lost one viewer. She took ownership of her views and expressed them and this is what she got? Just because her views were not always popular ones, doesn't mean that she is wrong about them.

And they kick the only real person off of the show...yeah Star is tacky and her husband looks Gay...but she was really good, even without the weight.
Now the show can focus on its true audience...bitter old white women who get no dick but really need it. And that's coming from a woman who knows.
Star and Meredith were good for leaving when they did...I hope the View has a quick death...don't prolong the pain for too long.
