While Janet Jackson is looking amazing once again (I want the name of her trainer), all of her work may have been in vain. If her new album, "20 Years Old", is anything like the completely forgettable "Call on Me," she'll have to start dusting out the discount bins at Tower Records pretty quickly. She hasn't put out a decent album since "The Velvet Rope", let's pray that her musical career hasn't gone the way of her brothers.

Her album is going to tank. She is pushing 40 and is catering to 20 somethings. Look at her...
Her album is called 20-year old? Why? Because she has the body of one (right, pills and lipo do wonders, not to mention a paid nutritionist and trainer) But the point is she is getting older, and her star is fading. Why can't celebrities know when to go out? Most atheletes know when to go out - when they are on top of their game. She is no longer on top and seeing the pathetic attempt to climb back up there is a waste. Yeah Mariah did it, but she is still a number of years younger than Janet and recognized that she is still in her prime. Beyonce and Christina are going to blow Janet away this fall!

Janet's new single, 'Call on Me' has just broken an new billboard record. It is now the highest debut R&B hip/hop song beating Beyonce by one spot. The new song is doing well(see the billboard charts) Janet is amazing and looking awesome. Read about it at the Billboard site.

As for Janet's album name "20 Years Old" it has nothing to do with how she looks or is trying to look, so get your facts straight before lashing out. The album is actually titled that because it's celebrating the release of her GROUND BREAKING ALBUM CONTROL - in 1986, thus her career being 20 years old. And apparently "Call On Me" isn't too unforgettable because it's now the highest debuting single in 7 years on the Billboard Charts, since TLC's "No Scrubs", so apparently someone is diggin it - including me! Oh and as far as Christina and Beyonce, and Britney, etc etc etc...(don't get me wrong, I love them all), but none of them would be where they are if Miss Janet herself had not paved the way for the female pop artists of today!!! Most of them just copy and try to be her anyway.

Paula Abdul, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, New Kids on the Block, NSYNC, and Brittany all huge names that have come and gone. I could go on listing for hours, but the point to this is that Janet has been here and survived some of the biggest music trends. Before the superbowl halftime show admit it, you all loved her. If you're still pissed because of the Super Bowl halftime show and thats why you are all saying rude things about her, then you really need to GET A LIFE AND GET OVER IT! For all of you now Janet haters, I expect to read all of the same rude comments when Justin gets ready to release his album this fall. Oh but that's right, in YOUR version of the super bowl performance, Janet went on stage and ripped off her own clothes to expose her breast. Silly of me to remember someone ripping off her clothes. I understand why some of you may have forgotten that, afterall she got the blame for the whole thing.
I truly hope that Janet does well with this album. I think "call on me" is a great song. Listen to the words and you'll agree. I grew up on her music and when I think of Janet I think back to many great times in my childhood. Her music links me to my past. Oh and for all of you who didn't buy Damita Jo, that was her best album in years, kept me dancing for hours. You missed out!
