A Questionable Kelly Clarkson

It's just abhorrent when a woman actually has healthy curves, looks like a woman rather than an emaciated child, and you don't have to risk spearing yourself on her ribs when you hold her.

Me, I'd much rather have someone that looks like half-a-cookie and a glass of water away from marble slab.

i just saw this video with Kelly Clarkson in it. I guess that it's about Dave Stewart's (from the Eurythmics) first group in the 70s that never released their album back then, and now there's a big VH1 special on them July 5th @ 6.

Not a flattering outfit sure, but that's a healthy-looking weight to me.

I despair that the media today has distorted women's views of their own bodies to the degree that they really think that it's attractive to the majority of men to be able to count a woman's ribs.

I'd much rather hold someone like that close, than skeletal, malnourished stick insects like Paris Hilton and Kate Moss.

If you think that's overweight I suggest you look up a small thing called BMI; that's a better measure of health than some barely-human photoshopped image or emaciated, on-the-gak-diet 'role model' from a magazine.

She is NOT overweight. Those are called hips, which few in Hollywood have, and when they are that size, it means that a normal woman is a healthy weight. It means she eats and doesn't barf it all up.

It makes her look infinitely healthier and happier than most starlets like Paris, Nicole or Mischa. (The outfit is awful, though, and actually makes her look heavier than she is. Otherwise, looks good)

She is overwiight. That may be "healthy" by american standards where everybody is obese :) But here, in Romania, girls look 100 times better than kelly, they are healthy, they don`t throw up and they are naturally slender. In your face dudes :)

Probably. That is because american people seem to have forgotten to cook. Of course all the eating out will make you fat before you know it. Here every woman cooks at home and eating out (restaurants, mc`s etc) is for special occasions only.

girl_24...who cares about Romania...and I am from Europe, as well. The Romanian people are poor, they cannot afford fattening foods. People in the Baltic states used to be thin, too, but the common phenomena is happening there at the moment: the standard of living improves, people get meat on their bones. The same will happen in Romania later on. No need to get arrogant, dear.

And people: check out those awful/good plastic surgery sites. Just because Salma has had her boobs done does not make her "normal weight".

Andy is certainly not a fat girl or a gay guy. He's a hetrosexual male (who is out-of-condition and about 14lbs overweight), who simply appreciates some flesh on a woman's bones. Nor is he American, where there *is* an obesity problem (he's from the UK).

And his point is more that Kelly's stylist here should be shot; that get-up is doing her no favours.

I'd agree that Salma Hayek looks good and has nice curves, and that Kelly is possibly at the top end of the BMI scale, but that doesn't mean she is fat nor unhealthy.

I'm not saying fat=good, but that there are a disproportionate number of Hollywood 'starlets' who are well below their natural and healthy weight, yet still seem to think they are fat.

And the media perpetuates the myth that skinny=good, and have bred a generation of women who obsess about how many calories they consume instead of learning to like themselves.

I'd much rather have slightly overweight than scrawny, underfed, and food-obsessed, and I'm sure that many men would agree.

The reason why many of the Hollywood starlets look so bad is because they used to be heavier. When people go on diets, they tend to look bad and scrawny unless they do it in a slow, healthy way that includes exercise. Dieting is stressful on the body and our skin is not supposed to keep expanding and shrinking. It ages us.

You know who looks good to me? Cindy Crawford. Women who have "maintained" their weight for their entire lives like Cindy look great. The skin is taut and toned. She's slender and lean, but not bony.

Some Hollywood gals constantly go up and down. They end up with more body fat in the long run. Get to a normal (not starving), healthy body weight and try, try, try like a devil to stay there.

I think most men would agree that when they get a woman in the bed and they are tumbling in the sheets, it's a somewhat vigorous event. They don't want a weak featherweight. They want a feminine, but sturdy woman who can keep up with them - a little weight in their arms and some flesh to grab onto "feels" better than a sticks-in-a-biscuit waif like Nicole Ritchie and that Olsen chick.

Ok yes that top is terrible...but Kelly is not overweight, not a stick either but not overweight. Her body is fine and her hair cut is adorable.

first of all if you belly is over your pants you have no business in a top that shows tha belly hanging over your pants! just because you are strech mark free on the tummy soesnt give you the ok to wear a top that shows what shouldnt be seen. remember this " if i dont want to look at it what makes me think others do" and always check and see if the belly is over the buttone of your pants or what ever it may be that you are wearing

Saying Kelly's belly is hanging out over her pants is a bit of an exaggeration, don't you think? If she had a big puffy beer-belly and lumpy cellulite around her middle, then you could say that.

I wouldn't call her a fatty. A better word for Kelly is FLESHY. Nothing is wiggling and jiggling or grossly out of proportion. She's a little overweight. That's all.

girl_24, I hate to break it to you, but girls in Romania are not very skinny because it is the species norm -- they are skinny because they are POOR. The more wealthy the country is, the more likely people are to have obesity issues -- have you seen some of the actresses in the UK? Some of them have some pudge problems.

Oh, and Americans CAN cook very well, thank you. We do not all go out for fast food every day, so please put that cliche out of your mind.
