Maybe. Interesting timing on the birth certificate of Suri Cruise finally seeing the light of day. After months of speculation if the child actually exists (since no one has seen the baby), the one document that can actually prove that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter Suri exists, the birth certificate (click the image for the full birth certificate), suddenly appears.
The birth certificate was not filed in the typical 10 days of birth, it was filed 20 days after the birth (the couple was probably deciding if they wanted to trade it in for a different model). This was due to the fact that the birth certificate needed to be signed, and that didn't happen until May 4th. The person who signed the certificate was labeled "friend" aka Scientologist overlord. The strange thing about the whole thing is that the person who signed the certificate was not in the delivery room and did not see the baby. Da da Daaaaaa!
Finally, the hospital rep said the circumstances that triggered the eventual signing of the birth certificate were that Suri needed a passport, and a birth certificate is a prerequisite to obtaining one. So little baby Suri did travel along with the Cruise's on one of the couple's recent overseas trips. You know what they say, a family that travels together . . .
EXCLUSIVE: Suri Cruise Birth Certificate [TMZ]

kissy says:
the plot thickness!
Small Fry says:
Doesn't look like Kate even signed it. I thought the mother always signed the birth certificate, no? I signed my daughter's, but then again I was present and fully conscious for her birth....who knows if Kate was.
kbn says:
but wait - isn't tom's real name thomas cruise mapother? wouldn't the birth certificate reflect that?
lilbit says:
And wouldn't Kate Holmes sign an official document as "Katherine Holmes?"
And was it NOT Mr. Green IN the conservatory WITH the candlestick?
Dave says:
I guess it just takes 20 days to make a good birth certificate in Photoshop.
Jamie says:
Isnt Katie's real name Katherine Noelle Holmes ? I think the birth certificate is a fake.
Me says:
That can't be real. Thomas Cruise? Umm... how about Thomas Cruise Mapother... his real name.
Cheesy says:
First, since when can you put nicknames as "name of mother."
Second, and more bizarre, since when does the person filling out the certification of informant (which is where the Scientology overlord signed) end up being a friend? It's usually the parent. Pretty freaky that it's someone else...
Me says:
That can't be real. Thomas Cruise? Umm... how about Thomas Cruise Mapother... his real name.
MissA says:
Yeah, I wondered about Tommy boy's real last name too. I'm gonna say this is a fake. Just like Suri.
JAL says:
This has got to be fake. I just don't believe this is real. Where the hell is this kid?? Everyone else is showing their babies off because they are proud of their children. But this one is being kept under wraps, if there is even a kid. I think it's a load of crap. Notice how all of this happened when Tom's movie was coming out!!
doofus says:
re: cruise's "real" name...on some other site, a poster said that he's had it legally changed, so putting "Thomas Cruise" is apparently OK.
HOWEVER...that does NOT change the fact that there are other GLARING "differences" that stand out. Her REAL name is "Katherine", not "Kate", unless Tom made her change it, legally. The whole issue of the "friend" filling out the paperwork...the delay in filling out the paperwork...the nurse who signed the form wasn't even IN the delivery room and never saw the baby...
and I simply cannot believe that an infant would travel overseas with them, and there wouldn't be even ONE picture of them from somewhere along the trip. Not even ONE paparazzi OR candid shot?
Baby Suri does NOT exist.
megan says:
The birth certificate would have their FULL names, and would probably also have the city, state, and country of parents' birth.
So very, very fake.
bubs says:
i just wonder what will happen when the kid's birthday rolls around or something and brooke shields invited little suri for her kid's birthday (same day as suri's) party and won't take no for an answer, and then tom and katie will either issue a statement to the public "we are very sorry to inform you that we are in fact mental and we don't have a kid. now we're off to the crazy house. buhbye!" or else they'll just rent a kid and pretend it's theirs.
there is like no way this kid is actually real. even tom's friend's haven't seen it!!
mindi77 says:
So Suri doesn't have a middle name? I think that is odd.
anonymous says:
I'd like to Express my scepticism as well.
Dawn says:
also my childrens birth certificates have their birth weights on them, Fl. can't be the only one who does that.
I call bullshit.
mommyof1 says:
i thought tom did make katie legally change her name to kate the nut job that he is.
dawn, i think each state's birth certificates vary b/c my son's doesn't have his weight, it does have his time of birth though. i am with you in thinking this is a fake though, b/c i wasn't allowed to leave the hospital until i signed the papers.
Ian says:
OK folks... we could be off curing cancer or helping the homeless instead of worrying about Tom and Kate.
mommyof1 says:
didn't crazy old cruise force her to legally change her name to kate??
dawn, i think every state varies. my son's doesn't have his weight on it, neither does mine or my husband's (we were born in different states). my son's does have his time of birth though. i'm with you on the fact that i do think it is a fake though. how can you leave the hospital w/o signing that important of paper work?!

I say, "No body, no crime."

I don't believe this BC is real. theres too much missing info..and why would a "friend" come in to sign, is that even legal? I think its all a ploy on Toms part to get money for Suris pics..he wants more than Jolie got so he's creating this hugh mystery, I don't think he realizes it just makes him look like he should be commited...

bubs, they would announce that the Chosen One cannot be sullied by the presence of the unbeliever thetans. ;)
Cheesy says:
A mouthpiece at the hospital talked about the certificate, so it's real.
BUT it's still very suspect that you can leave a hospital wihtout a birth certificate--at the very least, you get registered as "Baby Girl" Xenu and then the padres have to change it later.
But I'm sorry, this is the real world, and "a friend" cannot just come in and give the information on the birth, the parents, etc. and then sign it as valid. Just ain't done.
anotherskeptic says:
I had never heard he legally changed his name. I had heard he planned on changing Katie's name to the "more mature, child bearing woman" Kate but, didn't realize it had been done yet.
Wow, the tv knew what I was doing. The news just had a story on them. The baby has not been seen for three months and they say it's because of scientology beliefs that a child should not be exposed to noise. What happens when the baby cries... do they put ear plugs in her ears so she can't hear herself? How long does this last? His other children are now out in public.
Do do dooo do. Alrighty then...
I Speak For The Trees...
I think it is possible that Suri does exist, however, that there may be something physically or genetically wrong with her--such as having Downs Syndrome, a deformed extremity or something along those lines--which is why the general public has not seen her.
Not only is the "official" birth certificate FULL of inconsistencies, but, why is it that only fellow Scientologists (and/or those who buy in to that cult) are the only ones who claim to have seen this "beautiful baby?!" I believe one of them said "Suri is a SPECIAL baby," as in having special needs, perhaps?
Not that there is anything "wrong" with having a child with special needs, but I believe if she wasn't "perfect" then the Cruise's cannot bring themselves to show her off. IF this is the case...THAT is very sad! It would also explain Tom's purchase of an Ultrasound machine--so he could monitor the baby in utero--must have known something wasn't quite right?! JMHO.

Liz Michael says:
Katie's real name is Kate Noelle Holmes and I haven't seen any evidence to the contrary. The certificate itself just doesn't look genuine. It looks like someone photoshopped a file card onto a blank certificate. I don't think California birth certificates look that way, at least, not ones issued in 2006. You can put down practically any parent name you want on a birth certificate. Nobody cross references these things. So whether Tom puts down Cruise or Mapother is irrelevant: nobody's there to tell him what his real name is.
CHUNG LI WU says:
tom cruise's real name is actually thomas mapother, so i don't know why it says tom cruise as his name on there.
