Heidi Klum's recently-launched advertising campaign, promoting her bra, "The Body," for Victoria's Secret, has caused a bit of a stir, due to Heidi's claim that the bra is named after her. Claiming herself to be "The Body," Klum has put Elle MacPherson in the awkward position of having to point out that she has, in fact, been referred to as "The Body" long before Klum was even a name on the modeling scene. According to the New York Daily News:
This week, Klum has been claiming the title for herself in a saturation Victoria's Secret ad campaign for The Body bra. "They call me The Body -- and now I have a bra named after me," the German hottie claims in TV commercials. But not so fast, Fräulein Klum! "We saw that and were like, Oh my god!" Elle Macpherson Intimates spokeswoman Melissa Edwards told Lowdown yesterday. "We were initially flabbergasted."
In all of this confusion over models, nicknames and propriety, no one seems to be disputing the fact that it is, in fact, Naomi Campbell who retains exclusive possession of being known as, "The Crazy Bitch Who Beats People With Communication Devices."

Am I the only one who seems to remember a line from VS called "The Body by Victoria's Secret"? It's a freakin' LINE for crying out loud, it's not named after you Heidi.

not that i feel it's a legitimate complaint. last i checked, nicknames weren't mutually exclusive.

Yes, the line is named Body by Victoria but the bra itself is named The Body. And yes, Heidi is called The Body and so is Elle. Who cares? Victoria's Secret came up with the lines they wanted Heidi to say, if Elle has an issue, she can go to them directly. Besides, they're going to put their own contract model in the media and claim she is The Body. They aren't going to hire Elle for one campaign.
