Tom Cruise's Day Planner Must Be Bonkers

I like to imagine he plans his tirades, public antics and otherwise general strange behaviors (which have, sadly, died down for the moment) very meticulously because it's much more fun to believe that he's really a very shrewd and mysterious spy than just a wacky guy with way too much pent-up energy. Check this out, from the New York Post:

...Cruise has been busier pushing Scientology than anyone knew. According to a just-declassified State Department schedule, Cruise visited then-Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage on June 13, 2003, just an hour after Armitage had met with Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward. (It's speculated that Armitage outed Valerie Plame as a CIA spy at that meeting.) Cruise was accompanied by Tom Davis, head of the L.A. Celebrity Center for Scientology, and Kurt Weiland, Scientology's veep of communications. What was discussed? "Only Armitage can answer that question, and he's no longer here," a State Department spokesman told us. E-mails to Armitage and Cruise's rep weren't answered, nor was a call to Scientology headquarters.
I think that's what our government's missing: not enough Tom Cruise. Perhaps he is more of a magical creature, endowed with special powers given to him by the various roles he has played--the power of litigation, the ability to fly fighter jets and most importantly, to mix drinks in an entertaining way.

Meanwhile, he admits he regrets what he said about Brooke Shields. From People online:

Tom Cruise realizes he crossed a line when he criticized Brooke Shields last summer for her use of antidepressants, a colleague of the actor says. "That, he deeply regrets," Kathleen Kennedy, who produced Cruise's War of the Worlds with Steven Spielberg, tells the New York Daily News.
Well-played, Cruisey. Just keep America not knowing what to think, so you don't blow your cover. Meanwhile, the Cruise symbol has just appeared on the horizon and it looks like the world's most high-profile spy has some important work to do...

TOM 'deeply regrets' criticizing Brooke Shield's use of anti depressants. Why? Because he realises he was wrong to judge Brooke and the choice she is entitled to make, or because he got fired by Paramount and is now furiously trying to back paddle up the Crazy River?

I think the tide has swept him too far along, he will never again be the 'intensely private' Tom Cruise, but is destined to be everyone's favourite nut job.
