Tom Cruise proved that he still had some class left up his sleeve when he went to Brooke Shield's home last Thursday, in order to deliver a genuine apology about his past public criticism of her use of antidepressants during a bout of post-partum depression. From Yahoo! News:
The 41-year-old actress says Cruise apologized in person Thursday. "He came over to my house, and he gave me a heartfelt apology," Shields said Friday during an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." "And he apologized for bringing me into the whole thing and for everything that happened...And through it all, I was so impressed with how heartfelt it was. And I didn't feel at any time that I had to defend myself, nor did I feel that he was trying to convince me of anything other than the fact that he was deeply sorry. And I accepted it."It sounds like such a wonderful apology and Brooke Shields was clearly moved. At this point, it would be very tacky for me to make a joke that implied that maybe Tom was just stopping by to see if he could borrow some antidepressants for his new wife who didn't seem to be responding quite as positively to the mega-vitamin prescription his church had recommended for her post-baby blues.
Quite tacky indeed.

Spare me, please. A "heartfelt apology"? More like "damage control". The guy's a sociopath who mimics behavior he thinks is appropriate.
I think the apology would have been more heartfelft if he had done it a year and 3 months ago when this all began. Or if he had done it before he was canned by Paramount.

Whatever. It was Sumner Redstone's wife who told him to dump cruise, because she was so pissed about the Brooke Shields thing. Apparently all of the powerful women in Hollywood are. He's desperately trying to get back into some good graces.
