My friend Eileen met Jack Palance at a hardware store in Hazleton, PA ten years ago.
He had a home there for a long time. I think he grew up there.
Anyway, She said he was the nicest guy. Just a regular guy. She said it was cute, because people were doing the sideways look at him, trying NOT to stare at him, even though everybody in the store knew exactly who he was. So Eileen just looks at him and says "Wpw, you're Jack Palance! You're such a great actor! I love your movies."
She said he his face lit up, and he was so gracious and nice. And TALL. Tho' Eileen is rather on the petite side. People were goggling at him at this point, because, hell, it's Jack Palance!
And off he went, with his 2 gallons of paint. Had a busy day ahead of redecorating ahead of him!
