Jessica Simpson's mom, Tina, seems pretty miffed at her daughter after the recent mess up in front of the president. From TMZ:
Sources tell TMZ that Tina Simpson was furious with Jess after she flubbed lyrics, stood statue-still on stage while trying to hold her dress up, and then awkwardly hurried off with a few mumbled words to Parton. Tina told her daughter that the performance was "embarrassing" and "unprofessional," and mom was further incensed because Jessica had missed a dress rehearsal and hadn't adequately learned lyrics to the song -- which necessitated cue cards at the front of the stage. Jessica can be clearly seen reading from the cards during her performance.
Mommy dearest is in the right this time Jess. It's one thing if you want to blow off rehearsal, lip sync your songs, and yell strange things like 'Do you like my tata's!?!' at The Factory in West Hollywood. A bizarre performance where at one point she walked right past me, obviously being led to the stage by security guards, uttering breathlessly 'where am I going?' But if you're singing for the leader of the free world at the Kennedy Center Honors you better handle your shit.
I love that later in the article Jessica's dad, Joe, says he thought the performance was cute and didn't seem to care about the screw up. Maybe this was just a desperate cry for attention from dear old dad. Ever since Ashlee got the nose job (and the hit album) she's been the apple of his eye and Jessica has just been, well, La Toya Jackson.
