The latest issue of the National Enquirer reports on Katie Holmes being sorta...imprisoned in her life with Cruise.
Katie Holmes is so far under Tom Cruise's control that insiders are calling her a "Stepford Wife." The new issue of the National Enquirer has exclusive details from inside the bizarre marriage of Katie and Tom.Tom has taken over almost every aspect of Katie's life, even approving her clothing and friends.
"Tom doesn't want Katie wearing anything flashy - and nothing too revealing either," one insider says.
Others point out a dramatic change in Katie, from a free-spirited, independent person to a meek and submissive one, caught in Tom's world with few friends, no career and no way out. Insiders point out that
Katie even limits her phone calls to 15 minutes.
*shiver* Her parents better get on the stick and mount a rescue effort. Complete with deprogrammer. Suri's just a souped-up human-looking Teddy Ruxpin anyway, so she can stay behind.

DGood says:
Poor Katie. Well she is from a small town known as Toledo, Ohio so she didn't know any better. I'm sure it was her dream come true to hook up w/a man who was probably on some posters in her bedroom as a child. Who didn't have a crush on Mr. Cruise when he was in Top Gun?? LOL
Yeah OK says:
The girl is rich beyond belief (I'm sure her role on Dawson's Creek didn't pay her enough to shop at Barney's every day)... She has a beautiful baby daughter... She's best friends with Posh and Becks, JLO and Mark hang out once in a while.. So her husband is a little looney (whose isn't)... I think Katie is doing JUST FINE! She could've done worse - Chris Klein is a proven chauvinist pig.
Es says:
Sounds like a typical straight man (which I didn't think Tom was). I'll start worrying if she appears with bruises and a black eye. None of this stuff is THAT bad.
cyndi says:
not all abuse is visible.
i hated dawson's creek, and i never liked katie to begin with. i thought she was hopping on a band wagon that she would later regret. and i think i am right. i never liked tom either (especially after the brooke thing a year or so ago) and have slowly lost respect for him.

Leni the crack whore says:
I NEVER liked Tom Cruise. Even when he was hot in Top Gun or Risky Business. And NOW especially.... He's just plain wierd. But, Katie could have done A LOT worse... She's certainly living "the Luxe Life"... And for a little girl from Toledo, she's in pretty good care.
Gregorio says:
There was a time I might have felt sorry for Ms. Holmes, but she is an adult,a mother and the wife of a screaming, short statured control freak!I have the feeling Ms. Holmes will be relegated to the rear of freakazoid Tom's left shoulder and her mouthings will consist of " Thank you" and " I don't know." whitedaisy says:
Anyone who knows someone that has a narcissistic personality disorder can see that Tom Cruise fits the defintion--he is controlling and obsessed with his own image and needs.
Yes, Katie has alot of money. But living with a narcissist will slowly suck the life out of you and diminish your self-esteem.
They offer what they describe as constructive criticism that is really hurtful and damaging.
He is a freaking whack job and I hope that she figures it out sooner rather than later and saves herself and her daughter.
myra says:
tom is a freak but i cant feel bad for her. she signed the contract. she saw what happened with the beautiful aussie and decided to marry him anyway.
jojo says:
is a bitch
Cait says:
she's being paid and under contract. she was there to boost his career. there were 2 other " b list" actresses who were approached, and it's all very hush-hush. that's why katie's parents don't like the arrangement. she's making a shitload of money out of it, and she'd had a crush on him, and agreed. he doesn't love her, and you'll see when the contract is up, the " divorce" will ensue. -truth from an insider.
Heather says:
It's hard to tell or really know what is going on with Katie and her marriage. As outsiders we can make assumptions and have our own opinions, but the reality is that we aren't inside their marriage. It is entirely possible that Katie doesn't want to be in lime light right now. She's not the only actress in the last year to have a child and not really be seen much. Jennifer Garner had her daughter last year and hasn't really been seen either, so does that mean that Ben is keeping her prisoner. I doubt it.
I agree that Tom has acted bizarre since they started dating and the baby has changed him. Marriage and children change people and their perspective on life, and what is important to them. Maybe that has happened to Katie, like it did for millions of other women and Demi Moore (she left the Hollywood life and raised her daughters for years before returning).
I'm just saying that although things may appear one way to those on the outside of a situation, it can be completely the opposite for those directly involved.
Frankie says:
I really don't understand these tabloids. Do they sit in a group and come up with these things? Did a celebrity (Tom Cruise, in this case) refuse an interview, or just didn't smile at them one day? I try not to believe them, and a couple of weeks ago when they were printing that Angelina Jolie was saying stuff about Madonna's "adoption", then, it came to light that Angelina Jolie said something 3 years ago about adoption in Malawi and they used that article as an affront to the Madonna's adoption last year, this just confirmed to me that there is some other agenda at work here. Money, being the main motivator. If they are trying to hurt these celebrities, I hope it's not working.
When a celebrity actually "mouths" the words, then I'll believe it.
Cari says:
Am I the only one who sees the incredible resemblance Suri has to her real dad, Chris Klein. Noone has eyes like that. Katie was pregnant when she met Tom, and it became a convenience (read PR opp) for Mr. Cruise. If you saw Katie in 'late' pregnancy she was wearing a fake belly and her jeans were zipped all the way up. I feel sorry for all of them.
