Tragic how? Because maybe Daniellyn will have responsible parents who will actually care for her & have her best interests at heart?

I can't believe how heartless people are. She is a human, and this is very sad. In the scheme of things, her being a train wreck is seemingly small. Who knows what is best for her daughter. None of us know her family. They all got their 15 minutes trashing her in the media, and I wasn't particularly impressed with any of them. Larry, the possible father, isn't much better. He is a publicity hound. It is a sad event all the way around.

J. Harvey, don't feel like an asshole. everyone has been bashing this woman for years, deservedly so, and now we're all supposed to feel bad about her death? The woman was a walking prescription; it's no WONDER she finally kicked.

WHY is it so sad? The woman was a perma-drugged, vacuous waste of space. the only person it MIGHT be sad for is her daughter, if Dannielynn had ever KNOWN her mother. But she never knew her, and quite frankly will be better off NOT in her care.

and now you KNOW the courts will want her to be with her TRUE biological father, so there WILL be a DNA test.

actually, it's sad for us gossip hounds too, because it's one less trainwreck for us to look at.

Trainwreck, yes she was. But this is really sad. Here is a woman off the heels of her son's death who is now leaving behind a beautiful baby girl.

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I think Mr. Howard K. Stern killed BOTH Daniel and Anna. He was the one keeping the constant flow of narcotics into her...how hard would it be to slip a few more pills into someone so messed up they can barely keep their eyes open??

What a tragic turn of events these last 5 months have held for Anna. To think last summer she was photographed all happy and pregnant in the Bahamas. This is really, really sad. RIP Anna. Bless little Dannilyne.

But, like you, J. Harvey, I am suspicious of Howard K. Stern's role in all this. He was so attached to her at the hip--where was he at this moment?

While the death of anyone is a sad thing Anna Nicole's death was barreling towards her like a freight train. I love how the same people who loved watching her train wreck of a show and took amusement from all of her drug fueled antics now want to take the high moral grand when she dies. You don't get to laugh as you watch someone slowly dying and then shed tears when they actually die. I thought she was a sad figure for years and I found the way she used her son's death distasteful. I am sure that her history will be rewritten to paint her as a poor country girl that got caught up in the glamour and glitz of Hollywood. Please, spare me. I suspect all of this sympathy for a woman who was nothing more then a punch line comes from the guilt of laughing at the joke that she was. I feel bad for her daughter who will never know who she was outside of the intoxicated mess that stumbled across our television screens.

Is it too early to say, I can't wait for the toxicology reports to come out. And the coroners report, what do you wanna bet she had a heart attack from all that Trim Spa. Bet Howard will be in court sueing them by summer time. He's the devil.

I really feel so sad over this. Her story has just been so tragic, and I feel for her and hope she is at peace.

She may have been a strange person to you, or bizarre, or imperfect, but she deserves some sense of dignity in her time of passing.

And no, no one's comments guilted me into feeling bad, I genuinely feel terrible for making light of someone's death. J. I agree with what Kittycatastrophe said above. She's clearly been troubled for years, and anyone who's followed her in ASL in recent weeks can't be too surprised, because she looked to be getting worse. But as long as she was "entertainment", people felt entitled to stand on the sidelines and laugh. This doesn't mean I blame sites like this one-I blame the people who should have cared about her.

Anna Nicole has fought in court a long time for the inheritence from her late (and raisin-like) husband, J. Howard Marshall.

Interesting how on June 20, 2006, E. Pierce Marshall (son of J. Howard Marshall) died at age 67 after an infection. His widow, Elaine T. Marshall, now represents his estate.

Anna Nicole has a baby. Then her son dies. Then she "marries"(?) Howard Stern, who claims to be the father of her child. Then Anna Nicole dies.

J Harvey, don't feel bad. Even those of you out there who are up on your high horses and ripping into J thought the same thing he wrote in the first post. If you have an ounce of brain matter, you'd recognize that it was written BEFORE it was said that she had died. J Harvey did back up, if you bothered to read the first post. He wasn't saying the situation of her DYING was comedic, he was talking about when she was being rushed to the hospital. No one knew she was dead at that time.
Yes, it's sad, yes she was a trainwreck, hell yes it's so sudden it has become surreal, but back the hell off! Leave the man alone!

We may complain about our parents, but we're allowed to grieve when they die. So why can't we balk at a celebrities behavior - joking about it when it's over the top - but still feel badly when they die? It's not a contradiction - it's human nature.

J. Harvey, no worries--you're not the scapegoat or to blame. People are quick to berate what they perceive to be a lack of sensitivity, but I'm sure those same readers were getting their gossip kicks from regular reports on her downward spiral.

Of course Anna Nicole's death was tragic and sudden, but the report on her collapse was probably interpreted as more media exaggeration on a lot of people's part when it was first noted.

I still think HKS gives off an extra-skeevy vibe. I'll take the asshole title for saying as much.

Yeah, I laughed at her in doped up state. I watched her show regularly. I felt sorry for her then. I was sorry to see her gain so much weight & happy for her when she lost it. I was sorry that she had so much trouble with Marshalls' son. I say, she was married to the man, she gets the money. Then she loses her son. Then Birkhead won't back off with the paternity. Then law suit after law suit. It's just plain ole' sad. Sad Sad Sad. I hope she's found some peace & can be with her boy again.... R.I.P. ANS.

This is saddening and tragic, but not surprising. I think there's more than "Trimspa" involved here; I would guess prescription painkillers and alcohol. She was rolling the dice for a long time drinking & doping. She most likely had a cardiac arrest. Howard Stern? I have a lot of suspicions about his role. I have to wonder if he "enabled" Anna and kept her going on that dope. Let's face it...he's seeing big dollar signs in his future.

Sad, truly sad. I truly feel sad for Anna Nicole, Daniel, Dannielyn, and yes, Howard too. Because I think HKS loved her. My bet is on mixing alcohol, presciption pain killers & TrimSpa. That and the tragic death of her child; her heart just finally gave out. It's no secret what drugs do to a body. And she was so heartbroken, everytime you saw her on tv after Daniels death, she was totally messed up & hardly able to speak. I'll bet those TrimSpa people are absolutely frantic right now. Even a few hours later, it's still so surreal. My mind just won't wrap around it. It's not that it's a *surprise*, it's just... it's so sudden. It was so sad seeing all the things that she went through in the past few months.

Yeah, I kind of agree. This really is sad...she started her life out badly and ended it badly. Even though she's been a complete trainwreck of late, I think there's always been a little guilt in judging her. We all know she was completely fucked up...

One reason why I turned to Socialitelife for my Hollywood gossip is that it wasn't so mean and spiteful as other gossip sites. Yes, it was humourous, yes it very much revealed the absurdity of celebrity lifestyles, but it was never vicious in the way that some sites have become.

I've noticed in the past couple weeks, though, that socialitelife has upped the intensity of its commentary, passing a lot more personal judgement on its subjects rather than just raising some eyebrows. I've not liked this. And I'm afraid this story is the best example so far - "I'm an asshole if it turns out that this woman who has a train wreck of a life who I've maybe gone over the line with a bit in name-calling turns out to have really died". Sure, point out the train wreck, raise eyebrows, point out contradictions - but don't pass judgment. It's just all too sad. At some point... these are people too.

Otherwise, I do enjoy much of your reporting.

For all of you judgmental people, God will have the same judgment for you that you have for others. And for the people talking about her drug and alcohol addictions, do you ever think that when people do this it may be to numb themselves from pain that they can't bear to face? Just asking...

The first words out of my mom's mouth when she heard the news was, "I think Anna committed suicide because she's reached the end of the line about dodging the paternity tests and she didn't want to be around when the world found out that"....wait for it..."DANIEL is actually the father of her baby girl!"

I can't help but wonder if my mom is right because, thinking back on it, ANS always acted WAY too sexual with her son, making suggestive remarks ("Daniel, honey, I haven't masturbated in two weeks, could you go down to the store and buy me some batteries...." not an exact quote, but it was something along those lines).

The one thing I *do* know for sure is that Howard is NOT that baby's father and I hope that someone will intervene and give that child to someone that will give Dannielyn half a chance to grow up normal. If Larry is not the biological father (and therefore appointed custodial parent), then I hope Dannielyn will go to ANS's mom to be raised - afterall, that's who raised Daniel for most of his younger life!

As to how they will do a paternity now that ANS is gone, it's called a "motherless draw/swab" and DNA testing facilities do it all the time. Either that, or they can get DNA from the maternal grandmother to perform the test - I believe it's called midochondrial DNA.

For everyone who is shaking their fingers at J. Harvey or this site- I'm confused. I come to read ASL because it is different than most other celebrity gossip sites and I feel the writers are way more talented. Their sarcastic humor is what makes this site special- is it mildly offensive? Of course, but that's why I like it. Death isn't something to laugh at, but I really don't see any disrespect towards Anna's death in any of the articles since the news broke.
So for those of you who think that J. Harvey is an asshole- I don't get it. You thought it was funny til she died, and he hasn't been disrespectful since he found out, and that is the expectation on a site like this.
