In the March issue of Glamour magazine, Liv Tyler talks about her career in the modeling and entertainment industry. She started working at age fourteen, and for the entire duration of her career, she's been forced to watch her weight. She says that having children has helped her gain the confidence in her body that she's been searching for her entire life. Most recently, on location in South Carolina filming her latest film, "The Strangers," she's inadvertently lost ten pounds.
"I've been eating like a pig. I think it's because I hired this chef on the set of Strangers to cook for me, and I ate a lot of vegetables and protein. Filming was also incredibly intense: We were supposed to be out of breath in every scene, so I would run around the stage to achieve that. I just went to Marc Jacobs and I bought a red dress in a size 4."Liv also talked about her conversations with her supermodel friends (I want supermodel friends, dammit. Why won't Tyra return my calls?) about the growing pressure in the fashion industry for the models to simply waste away.
"I definitely think the girls look too skinny now," she says. "I'm friends with Helena Christensen and Linda Evangelista, and I remember Linda telling me that when she was a model [in the '90s], a sample size was a 6 or an 8. Now a sample dress size is a 0 or a 2. That's pretty alarming."That's going to be my excuse for my stalling supermodel career from now on. "Look at me, and pretend we're in the nineties. Just trust me. I look much better that way."

The sizes are basically the same sizes like money inflate. You can say coke was only 25 cents in my day and it seems cheap until you factor in inflation. When you factor in inflation those 6 and 8's are 4's and 2's now adays. I dont get why practically all steven tylers kids just the girls are a tad big i mean their moms must if been models for their father to want them thu they were skinny. He is skinyy i think its coming from him.His son looks regular though

I doubt the sizing has changed that dramatically in less than ten years. I know it has changed over time and that a size 12 40 years ago is about a size 6 now. I remember when models started to get excruciatingly skinny in the 90's. Its now become the norm. I think there are girls who are naturally really skinny, but the fashion industry should not be promoting the totally hollowed out/on-the-verge-of-death look. Its not attractive. A former model wrote an article about how she was told she was at her perfect weight by photographers and agents when she was going through chemotherapy. I am not saying that models should be overweight either. However they should be at a healthy weight. Most Victoria Secret models are not that skinny. Most of the models who are well known are not that skinny.
