Esteemed Member Of The Intelligentsia To Possibly Leave "The View"

Enough with the tears. Wah! I'm Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Big Rose made fun of my opinion that our phone calls should be allowed to be listened in on by the government! Wah! I realized I was hired to be the conservative punching bag! Wah! They didn't hire me because I'm smart! Wah! I was on "Survivor"! Shut up, Elisabeth.

AN on-air dig from co-host Rosie O'Donnell during an episode of "The View" this week left co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck in tears after the taping, sources told Page Six. "Elisabeth just can't take it any more," the insider said of her tensions with O'Donnell, who constantly slams her conservative stance. Things got especially ugly on Wednesday. Hasselbeck said she supported the government's access to citizens' phone conversations. Liberal O'Donnell responded, "Elisabeth, you are very young and you are very wrong." Hasselbeck accused Rosie of ageism and broke down later off-camera. By yesterday afternoon, Rosie had blogged: "i said some of elisabeth's comments were ignorant which was ignorant itself." This wasn't the first time the women have clashed on camera, but sources told us the insult was the last straw for Hasselbeck. "Her days there are numbered. She is looking to leave," said the spy, who hinted that Hasselbeck was shopping for a permanent spot at E!
Rosie's rep says they get along great, and that the difference of opinion makes "The View" great. I thought it was watching four hagged-out yentas say dumb shit. Oh please please please replace her with that girl from America's Next Top Model from the beginning of last season who doesn't like gays. Please please please.

I don't blame her, I would not even want to be in the same room with that fat, loud-mouthed, bullDOG. Everyone's opinion is crap but HERS or else. Donald Trump has her pegged.

NOOOOOOOOO!!! I LOVE WATCHING ROSIE SLAM ELISABETH!! It's hilarious! That's what gets me to tune in. Stay Elisabeth...for meeee.

Rosie, like any self righteous dyke, who lived through the sexism and dykism of Hollywood feels like her opinion matters. She feels the need to stand up for her crowd. Not really realizing that the rest of us don't care (i.e. we accept that your gay and know the conservatives are wrong, sit down shut up).

Elisabeth is a snotty rich kid who has the carbon copy of her parents opinions and all her friends were white and waspy and she never had to open her mind to let a thought that wasn't already on Bush's agenda in. (i.e. which is why we like it when her feeling get hurt)

So, in the popular vote (of people who read about celebrity trash) we side with Rosie because she has our interest at heart. But we hate her, because she is annoying cunt who doesn't listen and thinks her own brand of bullshit is special.

Why should Rosie apologize for calling her ignorant? She IS ignorant. All she does is play to all the housewives whose husbands tell them to keep voting Republican. Now, if we could just find a way to get Barbara to admit she's senile...

I don't watch this show because I cannot stand to listen to these hags sit around & bash each other. That and I WORK for a living. But I promise before God & everyone that I would quit my job & stay home to watch the View if they fired Elizabeth & hired Ann Coulter in her place. Let the games begin.

I love them all. At first, I never wanted to watch the show when Rosie joined, but I put aside what I'd heard about her and gave it a try. I love Rosie now. She's a little aggressive, but I think that is a result of her past. What I see overall is a good person. She cares about people and has a heart for helping others. I like Elisabeth too. She seems a little naive at times, but she is good-hearted and kind. I love all of them together. The differences in each one of them makes the show interesting. The way I see it, it's their political beliefs that cause the most arguments. I hope that they can find common ground in another area and get along enough to continue working together.

the voice, what's up with the use of the word "cunt"?

I love seeing Hasselbeck's thin skin get punctured. :) Schaedenfreude anyone? :)

I get such a kick out of you folks. If Rosie were a conservative and Liz a liberal you would be slamming Rosie for slamming Liz. Sheesh, guys, rude behavior doesn't know any politics.

March 2, 2007 11:30 AM

...or even Schädenfreude, for the anal folks.

I hate that JERK Elisabeth she should leave she is soooooo stupid.....Shut the hell up!!!!

NSC:

I think it's just that some of us never grew up and we like to see the sensitive kid who takes him or herself too seriously get picked on.

If EH didn't take things so personally and jut her lower lip out every time Rosie disagreed with her, then it wouldn't be as entertaining.

If she responded by saying something like "Oh, well, no one can be as right as you are all the time Rosie," I think that would turn the tide a bit.

I never really cared for Elizabeth until i saw how she keeps it together when confronted with two big mouth bullies.
It would also be nice if the View had on more YOUNG PEOPLE!

Whether you agree with Elisabeth or not, Rosie's behaviour is disgusting. Rosie (and apparently others who post on this blog) love to talk about respect and tolerance, however, they will quickly turn on you like a rabid dog unless you agree with them. People can disagree on a variety of issues and still be respectful of one another. As far as I know, Elisabeth has never been disrespectful of Rosie or anyone else on the show. She has strong opinions and only hopes that others respect them. That is not asking a lot.

Rosie, please stop feigning tolerance. You are not that talented an actress.

How awesome would it be if Elizabeth totally lost her shit?

Rosie : "You're a young and dumb Repubilican
crybaby!"
Elizabeth : "Oh yeah, well you are a loud, fat
butch lesbo. I feel sorry for your
wife!!!"
Barbara : "Now Elizabeth, no reason to get upset."
Elizabeth : "Shut up grandma, we all know you're
senile."Give it up already, die bitch."
Joy : (sneering) "Well, I guess your true colors
are coming out." Would Jesus say those
things?"
Elizabeth : "Go to hell Joy, you don't even
believe in Jesus!"

That would be funny.

Respect is important, I don't watch The View, but if someone is advocating the dismantling of civil liberties and the Constitution, well, something should be said, whether polite or not. We're Americans, aren't we? What makes us different are our civil rights guaranteed by the Constitution. Not all opinions are benign and should be treated with kid gloves. I don't know "Elisabeth", but if she is advocating a form of fascism is this country, unknowingly or not, she should be confronted. Many "red-staters" and conservatiges really don't understand the long-term ramifications of the policies they are advocating until it is too late. Until their civil protections are gone and they are being held in detention for three years without trial and not knowing what the charges are.

nsc if rosie were the conservative, i would disagree with her politics but i'd find her hilarious. like i listen to dr. laura every day because i can't believe she is real. so funny.
but elisabeth is just boring. bleh. i watch tv for entertainment, if i want people's real opinions i'll read the newspaper or go online to bbc news.

Why doesn't ABC just call the show "Rosie's View" and be done with it? It's obvious the woman cannot accept the fact that other people sometimes don't share her point of view.

Rosie O'Donnell is the most intolerant person I've ever seen on television.

March 2, 2007 4:26 PM

Good! I can't stand Liz. Once she is gone then the View will be perfect,

March 2, 2007 4:54 PM

Wow. Rosie and Elizabeth aside - What is up with the use of the words, "dyke," "lesbo" and "cunt." It's a shame you aren't smart enough to come up with a thought that includes any real use of a vocabulary. You are the people who perpetuate hate.

Maybe you should ask your mommies to hug you more you intolerant wastes.

I never watched The View until Rosie joined. Elizabeth annoyed me so much, but now I love watching Elisabeth gets slammed-- and not just from Rosie-- Joy jumps in too.

They do it because they know they can easily drive this one-dimensional, future Stepford wife parrot, into the ground. It's rare for her to have more than one fact to back up her opinions. She never sounds convincing when stating her opinion. It's like she's parroting the opinions of someone else. When she speaks, she doesn't sound as though *she* even believes what she is saying.

The View should put someone on who thinks for herself-- really *thinks* and isn't an Elisabot.

For those of you who refer to Rosie as "loud, fat, obnoxious" etc, what if she had the same opinions but was a hot sexy lesbian? What would you pull out of your insult bag then? When anyone wants to criticize Rosie, they turn to the same old insults. Disagree with her views if you must, but attacking her appearance instead of her opinions or views makes you look shallow.

Elisabeth is clearly out of her intellectual league on this show. The other ladies at the table are much smarter and more capable of intelligent discussion than she is. I like the idea of having a conservative at the table but get Mary Matlin (who would never do it) or someone of that level at the table. Then the true fun would begin.

Elizabeth is out of her league on that show in my opinion. Always seems to jump in too quickly and sounds stupid, frankly, when trying to explain her positions. The show should consider getting somebody else with better skills if they want the opposite "view" to Rosie. I'm no Rose fan either, but Elizabeth blew it because she cannot articulate. I don't know how she got the job in the first place. Survivor is all I know that she has ever done. Many of the guest hosts have been much better than her.

well its seems like people still can't stand for women to have opinions. Women should be quiet and discuss hairstyles and recipes.........This is what we would be watching if we didn't have women like Rosie saying it like it is. Right or Wrong she at least says how she feels and why. Suck it up, Elizabeth or they'll tap your phone next.

Rosie consistently talks over others when they are speaking, but she is a very strong orator and the fault is not entirely hers. The show needs to balance out this flaw by hiring a woman who can share her conservative counterpoints equally.

In a side note, what saddens me in reading these posts is that people use words like "dyke" and "cnut" and yet feel it's okay to slam Rosie. Makes you no better than the person you are finding fault with to speak inhumanely and only sheds light on your own ignorance.

When Elizabeth's children are grown and
serving on the front line in a service
draft, let's see if her thoughts have matured.

I am hopeful that Rosie will move on to do
something creative, and perhaps Elizabeth could
do some charity work herself. Maybe then she would
see what real life is like. Golly, gee, what will
she do without designer duds and matching earrings? Um, like, gee. Who will change
the light bulb for me? Waaaaah.

Try raising a child in the Bronx, Elizabeth.
Try making ends meet on minimum wage. Not everyone
is a spoiled socialite with football money to
burn.

When you grow up you're welcome back on The View.
