While Bono has become a knight of the British empire, he's not Sir worthy.
The U2 frontman was named a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.He is being honoured for his humanitarian work and his services to the music industry, which included organising Live 8 with Bob Geldof in 2005.
"You have permission to call me anything you want - except sir, all right? Lord of lords, your demigodness, that'll do," Bono joked with reporters after the ceremony.
The singer has not been awarded the title of "Sir" because he is not a British national.
His wife, four children, The Edge and Adam Clayton attended the ceremony to honor the U2 frontman.
