I am not a fan of "American Idol." That said, I do admit that I am a fan of the makeovers that show bestows upon the wannabe record-makers. It's endearing to watch the contestants coming in wearing their best spangly tube-top and shiniest hoop earrings in hopes of impressing the judges, and walking out with better hair, make-up and a higher quality of denim than when they started.
And the man in charge of revamping the hopefuls is none other than Miles Siggins. The man isn't a miracle worker, but does somehow manage to put fashion training wheels on the confused K-Mart shoppers and push them out into the world to hopefully learn how to continue on their own.
"A lot of these contestants, they haven't had massive exposure to fashion. The first thing people see when (the finalists) step out onstage, they don't hear their voices, they see what they're wearing." Siggins explains. The overall goal is to prevent contestants from being verbally shredded by the forked-tongued, albeit honest, Simon Cowell for fashion flubs. Miles "coaxes" contestants to step out of the bargain box and to kick the glam up a notch.

More on Simon Cowell, the bad British schoolboy, after the jump...
As you may or may not have noticed, Simon loves to pick on any and everyone. This, of course, includes his fellow judges, as well as the contestants who have voluntarily placed themselves under his scrutiny. Miles, however, brushes off the negativity with a simple explanation of his own.
"To be honest, Simon just says things to rile people up, to try and get an argument. He explains. He's like a spoiled little British schoolboy sometimes. Being British, I know exactly what they're like."What I don't understand is how a man with the most alert nipples I have ever seen is doling out fashion advice. And seriously, do my eyes deceive me, or is he rocking a flat-top?
