Evil Bahamian genius/prescription drug provider/baby imprisoner Howard K. Stern is in talks with a highly regarded legal eagle to apparently start firing libel suits at the media. It would be SO hot if we got hit with one. I'd be flattered. I'm sure my publisher wouldn't be jazzed. But it would get our name in the papers, and it would mean I don't have to go through with my original idea for a stunt to increase page views. Which involved me lighting myself on fire outside of Winston's in L.A., screaming "A Socialite's Life - This Ain't CNN, Bitches!" and letting the Olsen twins warm their old bones beside me.
Lin Wood, the high-powered lawyer with a specialty in defamation cases, has issued a statement confirming the TMZ report that he is, in fact, in discussions with Howard K. Stern:Mr. Wood has received numerous inquiries seeking to confirm media reports that he is in discussions with Howard K. Stern concerning possible legal representation of Mr. Stern, both individually and in his capacity as the Executor of the Estate of Anna Nicole Smith. This statement is issued to confirm that such discussions are ongoing and that Mr. Wood expects to issue an additional statement early next week with respect to this matter. At this time, Mr. Wood is not commenting further on his discussions with Mr. Stern.
As TMZ first reported, a retainer agreement has not yet been signed, but we're told Stern and Wood have agreed in principle that the uber-aggressive lawyer would file various lawsuits against certain members of the media.
I guess this guy must be a serious player. Even though his press photo looks like a Calvin Klein "Obsession" ad from the late 90's. Seriously, black and white with a vacant, yet penetrating gaze. Do juries respond to that? Do people like models turned lawyers? I'd prefer an older dude who "harumphs" a lot and looks like he could have been in "Inherit The Wind." But seriously, once we're sure Dannielynn isn't Howard's - who the hell is he going to sue, why and how can he back it? You've got a baby held hostage that's not yours! It might be in the Bahamas, but that doesn't mean it's not a kidnapping!

Wrongful death? She did herself in. If you want him prosecuted for this how about going after all the family members and friends of people in this country who knowly abuse drugs and alchol. What you are saying is silly. Mr Stern seems to be guilty of bad judgment that is all we know for sure about him. He has been slandered daily since Anna died and I wondered when he would fight back. The fact is the media feels free to print anything they want regardless of whether or not they can prove it true. They have no real knowledge of what did or did not happen here unless they consider the Enquirer the infallible authority as far as legal investigation goes. Remember that little "innocent till proven guilty" thing. It's that little catch phrase you would be screaming if the character assasination number that has been done on him had been done to you. People like the previous poster with their Walmart law degrees have no idea of the law, they just like to hear themselves squawk. Fact is the media has slandered him and pretty much pinned everything except the Lindburg kidnapping on him. Let's deal with the facts when they become known. He is entitled to that just like anyone else.

Kidnapping? The kid is with Stern because Anna wanted it that way, period! She was a drug addict when she was stripping/blowing/screwing customers at a strip club back in TX-BEFORE Stern ever met her. She just simply od'd. They all did HER bidding, and yes they are all lackeys, peons and were paid and treated as such but certainly NOT MURDERERS. Virgie should get her ass sued by Stern for all those allegations as well. That white trash pig. Maybe if that cow was not a monster of a mother Anna would not have all these behavioral and drug problems to start with. He's in the Bahamas, it would be an easy thing for him to disappear and then Larry's baby could go to it's real fathers house.

Lin Wood is the guy who defended John and Patsy Ramsey in the JonBenet case, Gary Condit, and Richard Jewell. Check out his website for some more skeaziness. He is a family friend of one of the bitches I lived with last year, and I actually met him once. He is one of the most unhappy people I have ever met. Maybe if he'd spent more time with his own family, rather than a dead pageant princess's, they'd have some morals and hope. He is the kind of lawyer who gives all lawyers a bad name for taking cases strictly for the high-profile paycheck. And it has cost him dearly in terms of who he's found himself to be at middle age.
