Last Friday night, Jimmy Kimmel was in for Larry King and went off on Gawker's Emily Gould about how gossip was slanderous, and celebrities shouldn't be made fun of just because they have paper. He also wondered "who would advertise on a gossip blog"? Well, he would. His banner has been up on our site all week. Anyway, he got called out. And A Socialite's Life got mentioned on Page Six today !
Jimmy Kimmel sounded smug when he guest-hosted "Larry King Live" and told Gawk er.com editor Emily Gould he "doesn't know anyone who would advertise on Web sites like hers." It turns out Kimmel's own show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live," buys ad space on three blogs similar to Gawker - A Socialite's Life, Egotastic and The Superficial. Now Kim mel's backtracked, telling The Post's Marianne Garvey, "Larry's suspenders were very tight on me, so I didn't complete my sentence. I have nothing against Web sites, online blogs or celebrity gossip. I was referring specifically to a site that en courages anyone with a cell phone to slander and stalk people." Kimmel was referring to the Gawker Stalker map, which tracks celebs' movements. Gould said, "If Jimmy ever gets interested in actu ally finding out what the Stalker Map is, I encourage him to try reading Gawker for the first time. But for now, I'm just sad that I'm going to have to throw away my cherished DVDs of 'The Man Show' and 'Garfield.' "HAH It was a little irritating when he started whining about celebrities being slandered, because I'm pretty sure he's made fun of celebrities either in a monologue at some point, or maybe even on that incredibly classy show where he had girls jumping on trampolines or pouring beer on their tats or whatevers. Anyway, look - A Socialite's Life on Page Six! I'm such a slut for my workplace's name in lights.

I saw that this morning and was going to mention that to you guys but I see you get up as early as I do! Congrats on the mention, even if it DID come from the Post!

Uh, it wasn't a stretch to know that this whole deal with Gawker was going to come back and bite him on the ass. He got *lucky* that the editor of Gawk was an idiot; she couldn't have done a poorer job of defending her site. She was like a teenager with the eye rolling and facial expressions. He got so lucky with that one. Had it been a professional person, they would've blown ol Jimmer out of the water. He makes me sick. I've never been able to stomach anything that he does. And he may not be - but he looks completely crosseyed.
He's no moral compass. Look at his past work - nothing of merit, just glib crap. The fact that he acted like he had a functioning brain and was trying to slam dunk this chick on LKL's show is a laugh. Kinda like SNL or something. I'm disappointed Mark G. didn't get all judge and jury on that show, and open a can of whoop ass on Gawker. That would have been entertaining.

To Genevieve: Have you ever been to Gawker.com? Read before you judge.

Uh, "TO RD" *insert eyeroll here*:
Yeah, I've been to Gawker to see what the hoopla was all about a long time ago when George Clooney got all riled up about the Stalker map. What's your point? Are you saying I "judge" Gawker or Jimmy Retard Kimmel? Because I didn't say shit about Gawker. I was commenting on the You Tube vid on this site, with Jimmy and the Gawker editor. Get a clue, and read my comments. Or better yet, don't read them and get your *own* opinion on the matter, instead of posting an unrelated slam towards other commentors.
I watched the vid and Gawker's editor was like a bubblegum chewing, "Ewww, boys!" teenie bopper. She was completely unprofession and couldn't defend her way out of a paper sack. Like I give a shit what she was defending - she was a poor rep for whatever she was on for, which happened to be Gawker.
Geez, get over yourself already.
Louis says:
Yeah, that Gawker girl with her eyeroll and weird facial gestures should NEVER have been brought on to defend Gawker. Embarassing. Unprofessional.

Amazing site.
Thanks, webmaster.
