Sounds Like He Was Over Her Awhile Ago...

Details are coming out about why Prince William and his ladyfriend called it quits . Sounds like Willy needed to play the field some more before settling down and pulled one of those slowly break it off deals. "Babykins"?

"Kate wanted an assurance that there was going to be a future for them, and William wasn't ready to give that," says a Middleton source. "His family advised him not to rush into things, and so in the end, he couldn't give her what she wanted."

A former classmate of Middleton tells Us Weekly, "Imagine having the man you want to marry pretty much tell you that he doesn't want to marry you."

The strain only deepened when William (or "Big Willy," as Middleton called him), now a second lieutenant in the British Army, was stationed in a training camp in Dorset, England - two hours away from her $1.6 million London apartment - yet he didn't make time to see "Babykins" (his pet name for Middleton).

"Kate never felt like William put her in first place," says a former classmate. "To meet up for dinner, she would have to run four or five different dates by him before he would say he was available. Usually when you are in a relationship, you drop everything for your loved one, but William wasn't like that."

The report also goes on to state that Queen Elizabeth, while fond of Kate, wanted William to take his time in choosing a mate so the Royal Family could avoid any more nasty (and inevitably very public) divorces. Let me break it down for you. If I had to run four or five potential dinner dates past the boyfriend, he would be dining alone. Forever. I don't care how jeweled the crown is on your head. R-E-S-P-E-C-T...find out what it- you know the drill.

You'd think a prince would be busy. Big Willy can work me into his date book any day.

Yeah, i'm with Luscious Kimberly ...

He's the 25 year old Prince of England who is also a second lieutenant in the British Army.

A little leery about settling down? Imagine that!

Big Willy (love it!) just has more free times for the ladies now!!! Let him live it up.

He and his brother have much more class than the "royalty" we have here in the states...

Amen J.Harvey! Somebody needs to let Ms. Middleton know that she's good enough for a yes to the first night- and somebody will soon enough, no doubt. But- a future King is a hard act to follow. She's probably ready anyway, she hated all of the attention. You go girl!

I think that is kind of what happened; after all, she forced the ultimatum. Kate is being portrayed as the dumpee, but I think William said he couldn't commit and she told him to get lost.

She knows the drill. This is the monarchy. Either she gets with the program and accepts the way it runs, or she leaves. Like that brat Diana should have.

She is classically beautiful, and carries herself with respect and class. She's the kind of girl who the queen would approve of. He'll probably be back in a few years (or 30, like his father, when it came to Camilla).

Good for her, she can truly enjoy her life without all the "protocols" of royal life, and everyone watching her every step. Enjoy your freedom and youth.

Hey J. Harvey - you are once again proving to be an idiot. If you needed to offer the future king of england TEN options for a date, you would do it...

I think she is amazing and classy . I hope they get back together someday ... they should !

apparently her parents are worth like 5 million how the ell is she in a 1.6 million dollar apartment she was in the relationship for a reason

He's the future King of England! What do you want. Of course he didn't drop everything. He's not a normal boyfriend.
