Have a Socialite's Night: Are You Up For a Pokeman Party?

Have A Socialite Night-1

New York:

Fountains of Wayne gives lots of free in store performances. So does the Apple Store. It only makes sense that they'd get together one of these days: Friday at the Apple Store Soho - free entry if you get there in time. [Link]

Sunday's Jarvis Cocker concert at Webster Hall must have been mandatory for all New Yorkers or something. But Monday night? I don't know what happened there. Get tix for Monday's show, people. Stay home Sunday and watch Entourage instead. [Link]

Stop by the Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Center on Sunday for the launch of the Pearl and Diamond (wait for it) Pokemon party. Doors open at 8:00. I'd say the crazies will be gone by 9:00. Is Pokemon still cool? [Link]

The Los Angeles and Chicago weekend events are after the jump.

Los Angeles:

His latest movie venture, "Are We Done Yet?", might be getting terrible reviews, but Ice Cube's shows at the House of Blues this weekend should fare pretty well. So skip the theatre and head to the shows - popcorn or not, at least you'll leave with some good songs stuck in your head. [Link]

Sometime between attending fashion shows and designing her own signature scent, Gwen Stefani's managed to squeeze in a sold out show at the Coors Amphitheatre on Sunday night. Here's hoping she throws in a few No Doubt faves... or at least some secrets about her next career move. [Link]

Before he heads off for his Hall of Fame induction, blue-eyed baseball legend Cal Ripken Jr. is making a stop in Pasadena to sign copies of his book, "Get in the Game" on Friday night. Remember those Coke commercials? See you in line. [Link]

Chicago:

The Cocaine (energy drink) launch party this Friday at Stone Lotus is not to be missed. The controversial can supposedly contains 350% more "energy" than Red Bull and also perfectly mimics that burning sensation caused by the real deal. Do I even need to tell you which celebrities are already devoted fans? [Link]

"We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank" and the always sold out Modest Mouse is sold out on Sunday night, too. Even so, you should know that it's at the Auditorium Theatre. Let the Craig's List scouring begin. [Link]
