The man with the flowing locks that make my otherwise impressive mane look downright scraggly, admits that his popularity with the ladies has made him a target for teasing in the past. Growing up close to his mother and sister, Sanjaya tells People magazine:
"I've always gotten along with girls better because I was raised by women."He also told the mag about how he believes his classmates misconstrued his special connection with the fairer sex as being gay.
"I got teased in school because people figured I must be gay because I understand women," the phenomenally popular American Idol castoff says. "I think that's why guys didn't like me - because I got along with girls so well. When I went up to girls they would give me a hug and a kiss on the cheek like I was their gay friend. But I was the straight guy that understood them."I know that maybe it seems like I'm being presumptuous to assume that his highlights, complicated hairstyles, effeminate demeanor and gestures mean that I also happen to believe he's gay. It would seem that way, if I weren't totally right.

Who is the authority that decided Sanjaya is gay? Even if he were...who cares? It's his business. Leave him alone. I haven't watched Idol since he left. I think he has a great voice & everyone is entitled to their opinion. All this negative feedback only makes him more popular. Sanjaya, go for it, these people have no life. How ignorant are we to be so proud of ourselves that we can hurt a 17 yr. old's feelings? I voted for Sanjaya because I honestly think he's the best.With or w/o Idol, Sanjaya will go far. As far as hair, Simon is the LAST person who should comment...Simon's hair makes his head look deformed.He WISHES he had Sanjaya's hair. Get a life & leave Sanjaya alone.
