R. Kelly was so moved by the senseless killings that took place at Virginia Tech, that he has written a song entitled, "Rise Up," a ballad preaching hope in the face of such tragedy.
"Rise Up" will be available digitally May 15, and 100 percent of the net proceeds from its sale will go to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund, said Jive Records, Kelly's record label.Kelly, 40, wrote the inspirational ballad after watching the events unfold on television while he was on route to a performance, Jive said.
The lyrics include the lines: "Rise up, when you feel you can't go on, rise up, and all of your hope is gone, rise up, when you're weak and you can't be strong."
It all sounds very touching, but I tend to think that maybe someone who hasn't been parodied by Dave Chappelle in a sketch entitled, "Piss on You" might be a better candidate for some kind of moving tribute in a situation like this.

This should be sung to the tune of the Baywatch theme song?

Who is the author of the article? I am having a hard time understanding why he should have not wrote the song (all funds go to VA-Tech).Why should the actions of Dave Chapelle warrent any inhibitions about the song. R. Kelly does mean well if he didnt he would have gotten paid of the song because it is a really nice song
Some People I just dont understand, No matter what the motive is they will try thier best to misconstrue it.

R. Kelly is a dirty pedophile who is lucky that his ass in not in jail. Why does the black community still buy his records? I guess it doesn't matter that he is a child rapist as long as he da bomb yo.
