Adding to the drama of the on-going custody battle between Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger was the leaking of an angry voice-mail left from Alec to his eleven-year-old daughter, Ireland. Since then, the battle between the two former spouses over the custody of their daughter is now also being fought in the arena of public opinion. However, that doesn't mean that the litigation between the two has ended. On Friday, Baldwin and Basinger met in court, again concerning custody of Ireland.
"I recognize there is significant media interest in this matter," Nelson said. "(But) it's not in the best interests of the child for this to be further broadcast by the media."Nelson suspended Baldwin's visitation rights after listening to the tape two weeks ago. She was expected to decide after Friday's hearing whether to restore Baldwin's visitation or impose new restrictions on his contact with the child.
In addition to the custody battle, another court date was scheduled for June 5th, to discuss the consequences that resulted as a release of the tape, for which Alec places the blame on his ex-wife and her lawyer, and his lawyer states that they should be held in contempt of court. Additionally, Basinger and Baldwin will find themselves duking it out at the box office on May 18th, when both of their most recent films premiere on the same day. Says ShowbizSpy:
Baldwin's gritty new film, Brooklyn Rules, and Basinger's latest, Even Money, in which she stars with Danny DeVito, are both released on the 18th of May.Awesome. Cause there just aren't enough ways for them to possibly be competing against each other. This makes me think that I should never have children. Well, maybe just not with Alec Baldwin. Or Kim Basinger.

Shannon Munford M.A. says:
It is my hope both men take a good look at themselves and make the appropriate changes in their lives. Their current actions can have years of negative outcomes on the lives of their daughters. Both men would do well seeking progessional help for their mismanagement of emotions. Mr. Hassleholff should resume his alochol treatment while Mr. Baldwin would do well seeking anger management classes. One source of help can be found at http://www.daybreakservices.com
