This is kind of eh. Whoopi Goldberg looks to be Rosie O'Donnell's replacement on "The View". I was seriously pulling for Courtney Love or even Roseanne or battleaxe Sharon Osbourne. They need a crazy in there to keep the momentum going. Whoopi should do ok, I guess. I can't see her putting up with the twit at the end of the table.

Supposedly, she's even being offered the same kind of year-to-year contract Ro had. So she can jet when the going gets tough. Or when she can't stand Barbara's musty odor anymore. You know there's a smell of gravedust going on.

I think they went with Whoopi because she's working the low-key personality. She might want to whip out some whoopass on the Hasselback, but she'd just save it for off-camera. I do wish they had accepted Roseanne 'cus I would've loved to see a recreation of split-screen '07. I'm betting the producers passed over KG, b/c even she has her smackdown moments. & I think 1 attack on EH per decade is fine. Oh, well. I love Whoops, but the View is standing on its last legs and I just wish they'd stop trying to beat the dead horse. I think she'll follow Rosie's 1-year exit strategy.

Whoopi is an okay choice BUT I think Kathy G. would have been a much BETTER choice. Hell, I even think Rosanne would have been a better choice. Maybe in the future those two women will be brought in. Personally, I think Whoopi is a little TOO laid-back.

meh, as everyone says, Whoopi's a bit low-key. Sharon Osbourne or Roseanne would have been awesome. I know she's unpopular, but I think Roseanne's actually quite smart, and I think Sharon's capable of putting a literal smack-down on someone.

I think Kathy would have been a better choice. The show is a bunch of old ladies around a table... yes, even Elizabeth.
