Nicole Richie's lawyers were successful in arguing for a postponement of her DUI trial until August 16th, so that an expert witness can testify for the defense. The hearing was held at the Glendale Superior Court and the 25-year-old reality television star is looking at having to serve anywhere from four days to a year in jail, if she is convicted. She was not present during court proceedings, which came as a result of her arrest that took place after she was found by police driving the wrong way on the freeway.
I have to admit, every time I write about Nicole's current legal troubles, I still get a kick of getting to remind people that she was driving on the wrong way of the freeway because it's just so damn ridiculous.

I don't get what difference a "expert witness" is going to make in this case. "Yes, your honor, the stupid bi+ch was indeed parked facing the wrong way on the freeway, but she was sitting perfectly still and not "driving the wrong way".
I hope the judge sentences her to 45 days at an IHOP.

Yes Your Honor, I'm aware that the car was facing the wrong way on a freeway and Ms Ritchie was in ht edriver's seat, but as her hands were not on the steering wheel at the time, she was not TECHNICALLY driving, so therefore not responsible.
Where were her hands? Erm, she was lighting a spli..., I mean, on her cell... no, she actually had them raise above her. She was waiting for Divine Intervention.

LOL! 45 days @ IHOP! excellente primo, Lo.

when you look up the number of people killed by wrong way drunk drivers...it really boggles my mind about skeletor's non-chalant attitude...wonder what how this "expert witness" is going to spin this...

Easy mistake!
