Hot! Morrissey and Madonna have gotten into a public slapfight. Morrissey's a bitch, and he's funny and old and British and asexual. He tore into Madge during a concert with this hot line:
While performing at a PETA benefit show in Norfolk, Virginia, July 9, he dissed, "I wouldn't be surprised if she made that African boy she adopted into and a coat and wore him for 15 minutes, then threw it away," presumably blasting the trendy singer for hopping on the Angelina bandwagon by adopting 21-month old David Banda from Malawi last year.
Morrissey might want to check himself though, because when I saw his ass here in Boston - he took ill and cancelled after the fifth song. Spend less time on lashing out with your jealously and more time concentrating on performing complete shows, Moz! He should be dueting with Madge's wiry ass!

"In an attempt to trash Madonna, he revealed himself," a rep for the singer fired back exclusively to Usmagazine.com. "What kind of a person could even call up such imagery and words?"Oh calm down, lady. It was funny. She should fire back and mention how his last couple of albums sucked. He peaked around "Kill Uncle" and "Bona Drag" though we still love his cranky ass. Seriously, they should team up.

Mad Cat says:
I hate to have to disagree about the dueting comment. Morissey was making important music back then while Madonna was just a pop star. They were/are not even in the same league. Morrissey is right on with his comment!
Shootingstar says:
Madonna is def not in Moz's league and his comment is hilarious and true.
Celebrity adoption = exotic child-collecting.
Tom Cruise might be a nutball, but at least he didn't make a 4-star, international spectacle of adopting his children.
Fashionbigot says:
Oh man, Moz is the awesome. His last two albums have been some of the best of his career, very critically acclaimed and popular for the first time in ages. Personally, Viva Hate is my favorite, but the deal is, he's still making his own music and not stealing looks and sounds from other artists, like Madonna has done for many years now. (Goldfrapp anyone?)
I saw him here in Austin, a sold out show, and it was fantastic. My first full length Moz show, even though i've been to three of them. He's still on top of his game, his voice is still amazing without the help of electronics and he looks great for 50. Can you really say that about Madonna?
lalaland says:
Moz is the shit, I'll give you that. Not a huge fan of Madonna, but she is relevant in her own way, there's no denying it. But what was the context for that comment? Who gives a shit? And the fact that he was doing something for PETA -- oh please.
Jane says:
Moz is totally out of line with that comment. The very idea of a coat is ridiculous. Madonna could barely make David into a decent hat, or maybe a pair of hot pants, or perhaps tops, a vest.

erin says:
moz is hysterical, and totally on point.
and don't forget, he came back and did a wonderful make up show for us on boston. all is forgiven.
