So, Nicole Richie's going to jail for four days. If I did the same thing but was shooting off a pistol, would I only get eight? Four days? Would a regular person get more time do you think?
A court commissioner sentenced Richie to serve four days in the City or County Jail (her choice!) -- she got credit for a fifth day, for the six hours she served after being busted.Richie was also fined $2,048, was ordered back to school for 21 days to an alcohol education course and on three years probation. Richie must report to serve her time by September 28.The commissioner issued Richie a stern warning, telling her if she she drove drunk again and she actually killed someone she could be charged with murder -- not manslaughter. That's because after her first DUI, Richie agreed that if she drove under the influence and killed someone, she'd be nailed for murder.
And apparently it was confirmed that this chick's due in January. Four days. Hmmm. She showed up for this court date looking like Audrey Hepburn, sans George Peppard or long cigarette holder. She's still shady.

What is this world coming to. This is not her 1st offense, she's been in rehab what- 3 or 4 times now? Girl has a problem.
This girl needs a lesson in humility and hit rock bottom and spend some more time in jail than 4 days!!!

The only real justice would be if Nicole, Lindsay and Paris all got in one vehicle and drove it off a cliff.

You know what? At least she had the guts to plead "guilty" as opposed to Paris's cowardly "no contest". As stupid as the things Nicole did, she seems like she knows she has to pay for them and I doubt very much she will appeal this verdict.

They both look nice, clearly respecting the court. If that had been Britney, she probably would have tried to change clothes with the court clerk or something. Or showed the judge that she was "goin' commando, ya'll".
I think Nicole will be just fine....and ITA with the poster who mentioned that at least she had the balls to plead straight up guilty!

You know, I find the greatest irony of the Joel Madden/Nicole Richie relationship in the biggest hit Good Charlotte had that came out a few years ago. Does anyone else remember "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous"? A song that ridiculed and trashed the exact same life style that Madden now leads. And not just that, he's with one of the queens of that world. Hypocrite much? I saw Good Charlotte in concert twice about 7-8 years ago. Both shows cost $5 and were in tiny run down punk clubs in Nebraska. And Joel and Benji were really cool guys. When you're going to shows like that you can actually meet the guys in the band. Some how I doubt I would feel the same about them if I came across them these days. Of course that won't happen cuz I'd never pay more than that $5 to see them.
