Pete Doherty's pet cat has been found to have traces of cocaine in its blood stream after being taken in for observation by vets, say reports. The Babyshambles star owns a cat named Dinger, a slang word for syringe, which recently gave birth to a litter of five kittens. One of the litter became ill and the singer was forced to take the kitten into the vet for tests, where the drug revelation was discovered.An RSPCA spokesman told the Daily Star: "It is a police matter, so we cannot deny or confirm the identity of the man who had this kitten removed. But it is very important to protect animals from substances that can do them serious harm."

Obviously I'm a cat person and Green, my husband calls ours his buddy. I like that, little pal. They are wonderful creatures and I find those that generally don't like cats have never had the pleasure to live with one. A well adjusted one.
That said, I'm not a dog lover but I'd be just as mad. Although I too am totally surprised he had the presence of mind to take kitty to the vet.

That was me a few years ago. I'd not ever had a cat and thought they were little gremlins...then I found a month old kitten in my woodpile and I was sunk. I've rescued three now...and they're all my little fur children. I miss my dog (died of old age) but these little characters fill the void nicely.
Wouldn't it be justice (finally) if McSmackhead had to do serious jail time for animal abuse...asshole.

As awful as it is he didn't have to take the kitten to the vet, I'm not excusing it but many people would have just let it get sick and die.
If he gets charged (for this kitten incident) I wonder if will make people less likely to bring in sick animals (at least drug users and there are too many of those). Being in a sick cat and get charged, doesn't sound appealing does it?
