Believe it or not it, it has been ten years since the passing of Princess Diana. And to commemorate her memory, her sons organized a concert that took place over the summer. Additionally, both William and Harry spoke at a memorial service for their late mother held today. Prince Harry had this to say about Diana.
"To us, two loving children, she was quite simply the best mother in the world. But we would say that, wouldn't we?"Other dignitaries were also present, intermingled with celebrities such as Bryan Adams and Elton John, at the hour-long service, which took place at Guards Chapel. Um, I think that I've reached my quota of jokes in poor taste for the day, so I'm going to just end this right here, with some grace and dignity. There.

Yawn!!!
Quite a lot of my fellow countrymen don't give a shit.
In fact we are sick and tired of Diana being in the newspapers every day STILL.
joey says:
I'm confused. Here in America, the 10th anniversary of Diana's death is huge news. Our stations covered the days leading up to the memorial, as well as the memorial. Heck, US Presidents don't even get the recognition and memorials that Diana did -- but I'm still confused about the reason. No doubt she traveled the world as a champion for world peace, but wasn't it her job to represent the Royal family around the world? Furthermore, with all of the scandals surrounding her name and reputation (aren't there more than a 1/2 dozen guys with whom she slept), I don't understand why she's still held in such high regard. I can't speak for the goings-on in Great Britain, but in America, we pride ourselves on high morals and values - criticizing anyone who doesn't "measure up".

I liked her. She was a bit enchanting. I did not like that she had an affair with that red-haired guy who fathered her second kid.
Hannaaa says:
You americans just love a scandal, it's a different way of news reporting with you to how it is here in the UK. Diana will always be remembered in England, but maybe it is time to let her rest.

We pride ourselves on high morals and values? What America do YOU live in? Or was that sarcasm that didn't translate to print?
She was a princess, not a saint. Let her be dead already.

If anyone had to die on my b-day, then let it, unfortunately, have been Princess Di:(
