Looking fresh-faced and happy in a cute white dress, Halle Berry's out and about shopping for baby stuff. While Halle's putting on the pounds during her pregnancy, Aretha Franklin has said that she's recently dropped a lot of weight, although she's not telling us how much exactly. By her estimation, she's lost:
"A lot of weight. I won't say the number, but I found the magic numbers on the treadmill. Slowly but surely. It's all happy."Why am I bringing up Aretha in such an awkward segue? Because she's got Halle Berry on a short list of people whom she'd like to see portraying her in a TV movie project that she's in the midst of working on. In addition, she's also reported to be taking a look at Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, Terrence Howard and Billy Dee Williams as possible additions to the cast. Umm, hmm, Aretha. Sure, you'd like Halle to play you on TV. We'd ALL love to have her play us in the movie version of our lives. Doesn't mean we actually LOOK like Halle. That's all I'm saying.

phelander says:
Don't say anything bad about Aretha. She's a big woman and it's all good. She is a queen, a diva, a legend, an amazing woman wih an incredible talent. So don't minimize her by commenting nastily on her weight. It's pathetic and weak.

Who else would be good at portraying Aretha? I'd go with Angela Bassett. She was the business as Tina Turner in 'What's Love Got to Do With It?'
Ming Lee says:
Halle already did Dandridge, and she was dead on with that.Halle doing Aretha, not so much. Jennifer Hudson or Frenchie Davis would be better.
