Especially when they're young. Anyway, here's Evan Rachel Wood premiering her new flick "Across The Universe". It's directed by gonzo theatre type Julie Taymor and it's all visually crazy and is based on a bunch of Beatles songs. The boyfriend is dying to see this one. Admittedly, it's cool-looking but the Beatles covers sound SO bad. Just have the actual songs! Pay Ringo! Maybe he needs the money!
Tightly corseted-up in a tiny black dress, the actress, who's currently dating goth rocker Marilyn Manson, seemed to be loving her rising fame.Speaking on the red carpet, she told journalists: "Just when you think [life] can't get any more crazy it does!"
But Evan insists her feet are firmly on the ground.
"Honestly, it's just the people that you keep around you. Seriously, all the people that are in this film are my best friends now, and I don't know what I would do without them," she said.
"I don't know what I would do if I hadn't made this movie."
Stole a ghoul from a burlesque dancer by flashing some teenage ass anyway? Dita will get you!

I just finished listening to the soundtrack for this movie and I liked it a lot. It's not the originals, nothing ever is...and you can't reinvent the wheel. But it's not at all bad and I am looking forward to the movie.

The movie was ok. Taymor's problems lie more with the storyline than with the musical adaptations. It's about as thin as a Hollywood condom. And for all the (unwarranted) hype around ERW, she was completely outshined by all the unknowns in this film. Nice singer, totally underwhelming performance in this film.

I saw this movie last night and thought it was PHENOMENAL. I'm urging everyone I know to go and see it. ERW might be transforming into whomever, but the movie is still damn good.
