I feel like I preface all of my observations that Aretha Franklin is now more enormous than I ever would have imagined with some nod of deference to her amazing musical ability, but seriously, the woman looks like the All-Knowing, All-Seeing Trash Heap in a dress these days. Yowzah. And she supposedly wants Halle Berry to play her in a movie. Umm...yeah.
But, here I am, noticing her expansive girth in the same blog post as I note that these pictures were taken at the Dream Concert held at Radio City Music Hall in order to benefit the Martin Luther King Memorial in Washington. And, of course, I feel guilty. Honest, but guilty, nonetheless. However, I'm sure that Aretha sounded amazing, as she always does, at the event, which also saw performances from Stevie Wonder, Joss Stone, John Legend, Talib Kwali, Ludacris as well as a number of other popular musicians. I also have to say that I'm about to make my second "Fraggle Rock" reference when I say that even though Joss Stone has total fraggle hair these days, I'm totally digging on her green dress, which you can see after the jump.

Some cases of obesity are attributable to medical conditions. Something tells me Aretha's falls into this category. I feel for her.
