Gracing the cover of Us Weekly, Heidi Montag posed for the cover shoot with a big smile on her face. In her interview, Heidi talked about the plastic surgery she's had--a nose job and breast implants--and how any fears she had about surgery weren't enough to deter her, even on the day she was scheduled to go under the knife.
"I woke up, and it was like Christmas: I was a nervous wreck, but I was just so excited at the same time. Spencer said, "I'm so proud of you." It was like he was wishing me well off to school: "Love you! Bye!" But surgery is a very big deal. Right before I went in, I was like, What if I don't wake up? Oh, this is scary. Then I thought, I don't care. If I don't wake up, it's worth it. I just wanted it so badly."It's just such a shame that after all the trouble she's gone to get them, those knockers of hers can't help her to sing or dance any better, as we've clearly seen. But at least now that she has her body the way she wants it, we can really go to town on her horribly under-developed personality.

While I'm not too keen on Spencer and I don't like anyone much on this show, why hate Heidi more than anyone else? Or Spencer more than anyone else? Jason Wahler is a blatant creep and dirty to boot (he looked seriously unwashed in this week's episode), Lauren is a spoilt brat, Audrina is downright dumb, or playing it, and, if the Maxim photoshoot is anything to go by, is out for the limelight when the time comes, and that other one, Whitney, needs to take her job more seriously and spend less time being Lauren's shrink. Oh, and stop egging Lauren on in her feuds. As for Elodie, well, I feel a bit sorry for her, but come on, when you go for promotion, you don't tell someone else who could decide to go for it too. You go tell someone above you that you've worked well with to support you and speak up for you. Not someone else who is your competition.
as for Heidi, er how old is she? give her some slack, Lisa! She's just reacting to some spoilt brats interfering in her relationship. And maybe it's good for her, and maybe it isn't, but whatever, at least Spencer's made the effort to commit to her. He's young too. So he's a bit slick, but come on, at least he looks showered.

I'm fully aware that the Hills probably doesn't show all the good sides of Heidi and Spencer but it doesn't change the fact that spencer and heidi want publicity and nothing else. The fact that she got fake boobs, and a fake nose, just shows how vapidly shallow she is in the first place - there was nothing wrong with her appearance in the first place. She ruins lives, steals jobs, and makes herself into a fake piece of plastic all so she can have attention all on her. It's so sad.

There's nothing wrong with most people's appearances, but people like to wear make-up, get boob jobs, highlights, what have you to go further with their looks. Nothing wrong with it when it's so much a part of the culture.
Sure Speidi are out for publicity. But come on, who on reality tv isn't? Are you telling me Lauren Conrad and Audrina are shy retiring wallflowers and that's why they're busy showing and telling all on tv and doing lingerie shots for men's mags and generally putting themselves out there?
As for the stealing jobs part: Elodie didn't have that job, she only told about wanting it. that information is best saved for non-work friends. And she's learnt to keep her mouth shut when she hears about promotions coming up. no matter how close you are to colleagues, you never ever tell your peers the upcoming promotions because they have as much right as you to go for them.
And the ruining lives bit: where's the proof? Lauren was with a drug addict, Jason. Who knows what he did or Brody did or anyone did? Why assume it's the Speidis?

Hey TS I don't think you realize this but much of The Hills is a scripted reality show. But the only ones showing their true colors are Speidi.
Check back lets say in 5 years or so and see who's life is well-balanced, self-sustaining,and will be making their own living(by that I mean not off their parent's) To me that will be Lauren Conrad. This young woman is not only beautiful and talented, she has been going to college, working as an unpaid intern at Teen Vogue and will be having her own fashion line coming out in February '08.
In 5 years "The Spedi's" will either never have walked down the asile or will have ended their
"Fake Marriage." Heidi will be back living in Butte whatever Colorado and Spencer will become a dental assistant to his dear old dentist daddy's celebrity practice.

As for the person who will be happy and saitsfied and living a meaningful life 5 years down the line, whatevs. They are all shallow and equally talented or talentless as you want to put it, and I doubt any of their lives will be that different from each others then or now. Lauren doesn't deserve extra kudos anymore than Speidi deserves extra rage.

I watch it because it's fun to watch. I don't think it's worth it to demonize anyone on it, though. I don't think anyone on it is any better than anyone else. If actions speak louder than words then not one person on that show is an angel by any means - which is why it's fun to watch. And Lauren comes off as badly as anyone else. It just happens to be "the thing" to idolize her and demonize the Speidis.
Spencer works all right. He has his own management business. As for Lauren, I don't see her working that hard. The job is probably there as long as the show lasts. Besides she's always going in hungover. She can't possibly take the job seriously or be working that hard if she's out partying every night. But hey, that "job" is not her career. Making an MTV-controlled brand out of herself is the career. That's the whole point of this show.
Btw, Lauren's showing her true colours too. You just have to watch it more disinterestedly. Then you'll see the unfairness of everyone picking on the Speidis in particular.
