This is irritating the shit out of me. If this means we get one of those "Lost" broken-up seasons of "24" because his dumb ass can't call a car, we need to revolt. Kiefer Sutherland has pled out to his DUI charge, and is going to do some time.
Kiefer will do 18 days for the probation violation, surrendering December 21. He will serve an additional 30 days for the current DUI and must complete that sentence by July 1.Based on what TMZ knows about production schedules, that would mean Kiefer is serving the bulk of his sentence when "24" is on Christmas holiday and not in production -- he may have agreed to the speedy disposition of the case in order to protect the show from having to shut down production.
It damn well better not! Cherry Jones is the president this year and she's amazing. Don't you dare inconvenience Cherry! She won the Tony! Oh, yeah, tough break for Kiefer. But dude is a hardcore alcoholic and guess what? One time getting popped for it, ok, people make mistakes. But two times? Bite that pillow in jail, Lost Boy! Get your drunk ass out of the Christmas tree and get some help before you kill someone, shithead!

What ever happened to the '3 Strikes' rule for shit like this? His 4th DWI and he does about a month and a half??? I vaguely recall some law saying that third offenses get life sentences...

He is actually doing more time than the prosecutors wanted, which was 30 days, in order to protect the shooting schedule and not affect the show in anyway. He's splitting his time - 18 days over holiday vacation and 30 days after production is over. So he's being a real decent guy about it, and taking full responsibility. Hopefully, this will be the wake up call he needs and I think it will be. He's ordered to take 18 months of alcohol counseling as well. Yeah he sure screwed up, but I still love him and am very pleased with the way he's doin this.

I'd love to be in a jail cell with him. He'd be speaking another language by the time I got through with him. I would have him in positions they only know in the circus. He would truly then know the meaning of the word contortionist.
