After September 11th, Rosie O'Donnell claims that she really dedicated herself to expressing her emotions through her painting, with a sense of purpose she hadn't ever experienced before. Now, her works are being put on display in an exhibit at the New Word Stages in NYC which opened yesterday. Rosie blogged about the events that lead her to express herself on canvas.
a soulquake the tremendous toxins released during 9/11 spilled out of me onto the blank stretched whiteness. As wacky as her haikus might be, I have to say that I'm actually kind of liking this piece that's featured on the flyer for the event. Who knows? She might actually be good. In any case, her exhibit attracted a number of celebrity supporters, including her former co-host Joy Behar, Joan Rivers, and Susan Powter--what? How did she sneak into my list of "celebrity supporters"? And how in the world did she manage to maker herself look even crazier than she used to? In any case, her website says that she's "Stopping the Insanity Better." I like that, she's sort of fine-tuning her anti-insanity platform. At least she's not boring.

Pinksalute says:
The art is terrible! This is just another excuse for her get her face in front of a camera.
Shasta says:
I think her stuff should be categorized as folk art.

I think she did a good job and people who say other wise are just jealous. If people don't like her its their choice. I think Rosie O is the most amazing person with a heart of gold and she donates her money to the charity and other things, She does not publicise it. Some famous people want the world to know that they donated $10,000.00 (even if that amount is like a drop in the ocean), and want photographers to take their pictures, and some people put plastic flowers on the grandson's grave yard and take photographers to show that she cares enough to leave flowers that will last forever. Cheap Bitch! (Virgie Arthur).
I for one feel that Rosie O is a genuine person and maybe she says things sometimes that don't sit well with too many people, mostly they are offended because she describes their wrong doings without mentioning their names, so all the ass holes that she talks about get mad and defensive for they know who thy are. She tells it like it is and I think thats the way it should be.
Now with that being said, I will save some of you evil commenters thoughts and possible negative feedbacks about my comments, that I am not gay or oveerweight,
bacause it seems like when you defend an overweight person who is also a gay, you must be one too. Dirty minded people, that is not how people should think. There is nothing wrong with being gay. They can live their life the way they want. They are humans with feelings, There are child molesters out there who people should be paying attention to and maybe throwing rocks at
right on their heads. Seriously we should all make sure that these predators should be behind bars forever or just put on electric chairs on their very first offense, they should not have any rights. They are monsters and though I am not a violent person I would love to shoot that Couie
guy without any regrets.
This by any chanc is not directed to The Trump. I think he is kind of sexy. I love older man in his case only.

I loves me some Cyndi Lauper.
to the egoistic joker...don't pull that silly "you're jealous" card.
art is a completely subjective thing. what some people may think of as a great work of art might not appeal to others. just because someone doesn't particular like her stuff doesn't mean they're jealous. it just means they have different tastes in art than you do.
and I find it kind of funny that you preempt the overweight and gay accusations as if you know that's what people will think of you based on your post. isn't that EXACTLY what YOU did with your "you're just jealous" nonsense?

i dig the art --- not sure where i'd put it in my home, but i like it! and, i like rosie too. yeah she says stuff that ticks ppl off. oh well. they'll get over it or die with it on their minds.

I didn't realize that Rosie went on to do painting. I guess she needed to do something with all that anger. The picture of her holding the camera shows a very angry woman. I think the paintings look dark and angry, just like the artist. If that's what you want to call her. The only reason these are on display is because she has money! Rosie just loves to be on! She is always looking for something to get attention. She must have been picked on and disliked as a kid. I thought she was horrible on The View and I quit watching once she started. Her mouth is always going and she is so loud. I would wear ear plugs if I had to work with her. I am glad she is gone; what a trouble maker.
