Did you guys enjoy "Gossip Girl" in its first season? Well, for those of you who did, I have good news--it's coming back for a second season on the CW and is the first series to get its hot little hands on a full-season renewal. Yay! (This is me doing little fist-pumps of happiness, since it has become one of my cheesy, guilty pleasures, bookended by the slightly cheesier, but less guilty pleasure of "America's Next Top Model.") From Variety:
"People everywhere are talking about 'Gossip Girl,' and we believe this show will continue to build audience as it builds buzz," CW president of entertainment Dawn Ostroff said.Oh good for Dashboard Confessional clone boy and blonde girl--I don't know their names, in case you haven't noticed. But it's nice to see that the hole left in our hearts from the departure of "The O.C." can start to be filled with mindless, teenaged entertainment goodness.

Gossip Girl has received a full-season pickup, not a renewal for a second season. Only thirteen episodes were ordered originally; the full-season pickup means they will get the additional nine episodes needed to round out a whole first season.
But we can hope that we'll get another year with those snotty rich kids! They're awfully pretty to look at!
